Go anywhere solution that could work

Guesting with a twist...

Say your a highelf in your locked faction. You really want to see ther other factions maps so you guest the Ebonheart faction and you pick a race. You are now magicly turned into a darkelf with all the same gear and stats and same level. You can explore and quest without breaking the players in that factions imersion. You wont have PvP everywhere as this would give the pure PvE fans their space. This would let TES fans that want to go everywhere the ability to do so. And you could also go play with any of your friend on any faction in PvE. Only thing is you cant join the AvA fight on a guested faction. Here is a idea that wont take the devs chucking out alot of the game to make it work. Any ideas on how to make this work? Suggestions? Get enough support and the devs may even listen to this one.

I could live with that sort of compromise, but there is a hardcore element that really gets attached to "their avatar" and won't abide by having to change its race/appearance to accomodate this mechanic.

Also, you open up some interesting issues with realm spying which actually does make a difference in an RVR specific game so some changes would have to be done in this area to cut down on it.

Ya I have thought of that, any ideas on how you could stop that?

Nice idea, but no way this feature is changing whether we like it (does anyone?) or not.

Well, it's a good idea but I don't like it as I'm one of the people who gets attached to their avatar. Having said that, I'd take it.

The only way I could see it working is if the altered avatars can't be seen and can't see the other side. Meaning, they can only see each other (other altered avatars) and in effect become a different aspect of the megaserver. Call them, say "explorers".

That could be a filter in the mega server and would stop spying. Only guested chars could see eachother (their own shard) but... that would remove teaming with friends on other factions in PvE and lower the amount of people you could play with and make finding a team harder.

Well, that's why I'm for opening up the world so that friends could quest image

    But that's another thread.

This goes back to the eating your cake and still having it too idiom.

If the world is going to be segregated and precisely because that segregatioin supports the RvR model then any solution to allow travel to other areas has to be removed from ever affecting the RvR model.

Here is another idea... because you need to pick a conflict. Maybe you cant enter a shard that has someone from a conflict your part of. Could that fix that or cause problems?

or, why not just have a pve megaserver shard that has nothing to do with any conflict? There is no Cyrodil access, you can't collect anything that has anything to do with RvR and just allow people to explore and quest and make their own game. I say this knowing absolutely nothing about what is in any area that could support a RvR side.

As the same race? Or guested race? If its samd race that would again be back to doing a quest as a Highelf to go kill highelves that have invaded the Darkelf town =-)
