I've tried reading around about it with no success. Is there any word on classes in TESO? (I never played any elder scrolls games either).
I'm hoping for a caster type that shoots lightning.

From my understanding right now there are 4 classes:
Sandbox means open world, non-linear gaming PERIOD!
Subscription Gaming, especially MMO gaming is a Cash grab bigger then the most P2W cash shop!
Bring Back Exploration and lengthy progression times. RPG's have always been about the Journey not the destination!!!
The equipped items affecting your abilities reminds me of GW2's system.
I wonder if that will make people in RVR want to be more hybrid of whatever (melee/healing, nuker/healing) vs sticking to one role.
I always liked pumping all my damage stats on a nuker, but hopefuly the survivability sacrifice isn't too great to do that.

Its not like GW2 where a 2h sword gives you different skills then a dagger. Its where light armor items have more magica stat, I think medium and heavy armor have a different focus. So you want a powerful mage with big DDs and lots of range you need light armor for magica stat. But if you want a battle mages thats upclose and can take damage you equip heavy armor. Not 100% sure how this works in ESO but its taken from TES system but I am sure it will have its own twist.
So there will be
TANK,PRIEST,DPS right?
Or
Are we goin to see same sh*t like guild wars 2 ?

Yes this has the holy trinity. Something I didnt know I loved till I played GW2.
Here is a good places for info....

Except for Nightblade, the other are Ebonheart classes mentioned last October and we only have information about the Dragonknight and the Templar. Sorcerer and Warden were mentioned in passing.
The melee/caster/thief is sort of wrong now though. All the classes can use all the weapons and armor in the game. All the classes can use the utility skills like stealth. Weapons and classes specific skills give you the abilities that you can slot in the hotbar (6 per 'deck').
This mean that you can play a greatsword Sorcerer in heavy armor that sneak around if you want to. Doesn't mean it's a good idea...
haha! So true for me also!
But it will be damn fun trying it out
From my understanding this is the official class listing for ESO:
Ebonheart Pact
Daggerfall Covenant
Aldmeri Dominion
Oh yes it will be.
15-16 unique classes per faction or are they like SWToR and really mirrored? Thats a heck of a lot of classes. Makes me worry about class balance.

ROFLMAO +1
I chuckled.
Yes you can mix and match but TESO still has a trinity system unlike the mess that is GW2.
Six abilities on your bar with 2 of those being weapon abilities.
1-2 weapon abilities
3-4-5- will be your class abilities that every other person playing the same class will have.
6- is your ultimate class ability.
Right Mouse Button- blocking which drains stamina.
Left Mouse Button- interrupt enemy spells casting with shield or weapon bash while blocking or holding down the right mouse button.
A hybrid warrior is not going to tank as well as a full non hybrid who has followed his class line. Just like a hybrid temlar is not going to heal as well as a non hybrid templar who has gone down the pure healer class line.
A mage wearing full heavy armour will not gain the magical stats that wearing cloth or light armour would give them.
If my rogue uses a bow then ill have access to two bow abilities in my 1st and 2nd slot. Now i can then pick 3 of my own class abilities to help me use that weapon beyond just the two basic abilities it has given me. As a rogue i'm going to have access to snares and slow abilities.
I put three snare or slowing abilities in my 3 class slots and then ill put a full blown dps class ability in my 6th ability slot. So i can fire my bow at your ass and keep you from reaching me with my class abilities and then finish you off with my ultimate dps class ability.
Kiting your ass will be fun.
An avoidance tank will not be able to out tank a full meat tank who wears heavy armour and follows the full class line.
Which info? I've mention a few things.
From my understanding this is the official class listing for ESO:
Ebonheart Pact
Daggerfall Covenant
Aldmeri Dominion
Most of them were naff the first time around, so i seriously doubt it, but lol.. wonder how many don't recognise those classes
First, GW2 isn't a mess, it's full of crappy players who can't dodge, don't bother with combos or understand action combat. Also, lots of people love zergs. I hope you are ready to see the same in TESO, the combat system is way more action oriented than GW2 one is, combos are super important and zerg existed in DAoC. Doesn't have anything to do with the Trinity existing or not.
Second, some class abilties are weapon based, like the Templar's weapon sweep (it's also a self heal).
Third, the trinity (tank & spank) is irrelevant in PvP, which is TESO most proeminent feature (going by the marketing).
Fourth, there are no class line, class don't have ability trees. You unlock class skills at specific levels.
Five, you improve all skills by using them, including class skills.
Six, Health, Stamina and Magicka are resources, they do not determine roles. Yes, a character with a lots of health in heavy armor will take longer to kill, but it mean he got piss poor stamina, so he have issues with repeated CC (breaking CC use stamina), can't use his weapon stamina related skills that much and can't block (require stamina again). Doesn't seem like a good tank.
Seventh, Synergi (combo) are super important and can turn a AOE buff into a AOE damage skill. Litterally turning a support class into a dps one when in group without having to switch skills.
I wish!!!
Except for the mauler...
That is one of my biggest peeves about people who complain about no trinity in GW2. The combo system works great and it's awesome when you play with a group who knows what they are doing. There is no need for trinity but there is no room for slackers. In the trinity, the most important roles are healing and tanking ~ apart from peeling off healers, kiting or having to burn a target. In GW2, everyone is important and has to know what they are doing.
To be fair I also have to blame GW2 for not making the group system easier to understand. Many people never bothered to learn it and just says it sucks because they don't know how to play. While I don't have a problem with the trinity, I admire GW2 for doing something different.
