Bro Team's Bro Stream of their time in MO, quite hilarous
there are 2 types of mmo, imitators and innovaters.
Originally posted by TalonsinThe 5 minute dialog where they all compare their junk and shaving techniques was fricking hilarious. Love the fact that guys who have been gaming for years can not figure out the UI in the game. Really says something about the terrible design and poorly conceived tutorial.
Digression about guys in general: Never heard of a girl who plays this game (feel free to "fix that for me" by truncating this sentence at this point-- no worries-- I know what 'FTFY' actually means, and it's not fixed-that-for-you) who took longer than five minutes to get used to the fact that Full Frontal Nudity Happens. Maybe it's an X vs. Y chromosome thing and none of us can understand it without understanding that. Funny old thing, life.
Mortal Online doesn't hold anyone's hand, for certain, and as far as tutorials go, reading is hard (though the junk is not) and so is Swenglish. My first five minutes in the game (back in the pre-tutorial days) were spent being only able to move sideways, and not even that far on the learning curve without VOIP assistance. If that degree of interaction with those who already play AND are willing to guide-a-newbie (there are some, with the usual limits) is out of the question for someone, this game may not be for him.

i know 1 girl who used to play mo and of a few others that did. Certainly not as popular with the fairer sex as most mmos but that doesnt mean none play it.
the nudity can be filted in options now.
I learned most of what i know through trial and error as well as the people that are outgoing and willing to help you in the game. Not only that the Help chat is available to you as long as its not abused. Don't know how to chop wood? ask and someone will tell you.
Just the other day i got mauled by a pack of wild dogs with giant red dangly balls. Was running back to get my gear and i notcied a grey (criminal) heading straight towards me. So i drew my sword to show him i meant business. he stops in front me and im thinking "Just do it Mofugga. I'll chop your d!ck off right here." Instead of him attacking me he opens a trade window and proceeds to give me all my gear.. dude ran into a highly aggro pack of wild dog things with huge red dangly balls just to bring a total stranger their gear.
he was only grey due to the fact when you loot someones corpse it makes you a criminal.
If i had attacked him? prolly would have killed me and i would have lost everything.. That to me is player choice.
Unfortunately not even an hour ago i was ganked and robbed blind
Once you learn what exactly you're doing. Money, armor, weapons.. is all pretty easy to obtain.
love this game.
This game was lost when it became apparent that combat would be a shoddy hot mess.
Also this video, these people were laughing at the game, not with it. Turned it off when that guy started to read gay porn text in the backround.
The first few minuets reall highlights everything wrong with the game, not that its hard, but that its a buggy hot mess.
I really dont see how anyone in the games few players can be competative with combat like that...and with character movement as is...and with...well looked like players were jumping about desyncing...much like what drove me away early in with the game.
Get a good combat system. Then work on the game. At least it will be enjoyable to play. This is why Darkfall is the only surviving (barely) full loot sandbox. The combat is halfway decent, smooth, and enjoyable.
Now if games like this could focus on getting content beyond pvp...we might have ourselfs a good game worthy of more than 10k (or less....much less in MO's case) players...granted they have a decent and enjoyable combat system.

There used to be basic text files that are linked when you download the game: do those still exist? I'd like to see the experience of a brand new player that had a proper manual that he read first. Of course that would require them writing one - this is the kind of game that needs it. Still I feel like if your going to stream a game and critique it, at least read the basic text files and a few guides on the forums first.
Why necro these 2 month old dead threads? Let them and this game die the slow horrible death they deserve.

Originally posted by assault3hro Lolno Talo, the game seems pretty nice, the Combat should be improved but the entire idea is great.
A great idea is all they've got, since alpha. Never went anywhere but having a good idea.
Not going to pay money for ideas from incompetent people that obviously can't implement them.
