I made 5d from script steal the other night, Hellwind. I've probaly made 10-12D total from scripts, and another 3d from from robbing escorts and selling the goods. Another 1-2D from blacksmithing.
Making unbound silver should not be a problem for anyone, as long they do SOMEthing. They wont get it sitting around.
My issue is making bound silver, the npc/pve stuff. I never have more than 4-500L.
Maybe you were the guy who killed me three nights in a row. Making silver is a problem. At least enough to pay for things you need like gear or the needed skills. I constantly kidnapped, dungeon run, script stole, and played a lot for about a month. I never spent a penny and never had more than 600L.
The silver coins npc/stuff is a joke to get. You're kidding right? You just have to spy and you get a like 150L each time you spy (which you should be doing the weekly if you ever expect to progress end game).
Never have done a spy mission, not once. I get school badges from school wars. How ever many else I need (400 more) I'll buy from a person selling badge crates. It will cost me about 1.1D for those.

Script steal can be a mofo..
I suggest getting some speed buffs and making sure to rush in and "out" with the zerg if you can. Certain schools you might have to go about it a bit differently. Scholars for instance with the spinning and stuff can be a problem even getting close enough to the bookshelves to get a script.
Royal Gaurds can be a little headache with being pulled and stuff. Tangmen normally just pew pew people before they get books. Coming to Wanderer's Valley is definately a death sentence. We take our knowledge quite seriously. LoL w/e
If all else fails try to find an offline player in a quiet place. Grab and bail, don't worry about helping buddies and stuff. If you see someone else trying to escape with a book. Tag along with them, if you don't help each other at least someone thinking to gank will have to decide between you two first. You might get lucky..

Thanks for the tip on the speed buff. I do the rest of the suggestions. I am fairly successful at getting the script on my back and getting away from the mayhem around the case. I have troubles later when I get singled out because someone notices I'm a blue dot (lower level) and they chase me using goose and/or chain etc. I did group with a guildee once. Once again, I'm lower level so I got yanked. He left me for death.

Oh and I misspoke earlier - its 50L silver coins for spying. Still, you have to do the weekly to progress anywhere past the Tier 2 inner level 30, so I'm not sure why you'd ever run into issues getting that money.

Thatsts just silly bully, it takes you 40-50 minutes to do all spy quest if you know where to do them, it maxes your exp and can give you up to 140 school certificates a week. Even then if you dont like doing spying just steal 1 piece of information and go back, thats enough for it and counts towards the weekly spy quest.

I get 50 Liang bound Silver for a 10 int. Token Spy Mission not 150.
I get a much more with doing GCC Runs or be a Assassine.

I play my Char as lawful so i dont kidnap or rob escorts.
Steal Script Event is on 04:00AM CET.I do it only on Weekends.
I use this 100% Heal Pill from Arena Admin on script Events.
Was never lucky and got Flying Horse,Far and Remove or Green Shadow of a Maiden Basic 1.
All my unbound silver is from selling Gear as a Tailor.
I will never use my CC to get a workbench or good Skills.
I craftet my clothes and buyed the Weapons and Rings.My Equip is ok.
