The Guardian Fighter "Takes the Tank", if not the cake. We dove deep into the nooks and crannies of Neverwinter yesterday, and tried out three of the game's five classes in the process. Suzie took on the Guardian Fighter, Neverwinter's tank class. See what she thought of the class beyond the break.
As you can imagine, the Guardian Fighter is the tank class of the game. It is her job to dart to the forefront of any battle and keep the enemies busy while casters and healers do their thing from the background and the sneaky rogue darts around the back. The Guardian Fighter in Neverwinter is a sword and shield user, distinctly separate from the not-yet-seen Great Weapon Fighter who will be a two-handed weapon specialist.

I almost always play tanks in MMOs but I also almost always try and take the tank that isnt "sword and board".
Very similar, typical and boring.
Ooh look, I use one hand weapons and shield and wear plate armor. But Im different from the other sword and board tanks you've seen in a dozen other MMOs because I have attacks like "Cleave" and "Shield Bash".
Bleh.
Good stuff,
How was it to keep aggro? Hard/easy are there certain skills to do this or is it just a run up first and start wacking um thing? Thanks for the feedback Suzie!
Aggro wasn't horrible to keep though I did notice Bill squealing like a girl as he was chased by some baddies that got away.
Enforced Threat generates a taunt that draws them back so it's good to keep it up and running as often as possible when in a crowd.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I usually play dual-wielding fighter in DnD which was allways great high risk high reward class.
I hope he will see light of day nothing sets my mood like 8 attacks per round (yah I know monks beat that by mile)
Damn You PW ! *shakes the fist* Y U NO SEND BETA INVITE !

Did you try Fighter's recovery daily? It is all you need for healing. Dont even need a cleric or a potion with that power.

The one thing that I found problematic with the Guardian Fighter is the lack of any sort of healing power at all. Perhaps I’ve been spoiled by games that give fighter classes an innate healing ability. Still, because of being a tank character, the fighter takes a boatload of damage. Without a healer along or a ton of potions on hand, adventuring into harder dungeons and instances could prove tricky. Because of any ability to heal, Cryptic has definitely made the Holy Trinity a must for players."
i would'nt mind having a skill to prolong your survibility BUT a warrior having a healing spell like in GW2??? > <||| just play your role and invite others into your group to do theirs. all class have pros & cons and hey this is a mmoRPG, not a standalone pc/console title ! Holy Trinity is a YES YES YES in any future mmo titles i would say.
