Game is awesome, enough said...

I never make threads here but just wanted to share my opinion as this game is worth it. I initially played the free trial, and got bored of the game really fast as I had no idea what was going on and it was all looking so bland...

I then continued my mmorpg hop I have been doing for the last year and a half, did some DFUW beta, some Earthrise Alpha... But I kept coming to mmorpg and looking for something else... all the while I kept reading 'Age of wushu is so awesome' but just couldnt figure out what these people seen. So I said forget it, ill just spend the 20, sub and really force myself to play till I atleast understand the game overall.

Well now I understand the game pretty well after 2 weeks (really started to understand it after a good 2 or 3 days) and I think I finally found a new home after mmorpg hoping the last few years. The game is extremely fun and addicting. The 'daily' activities are actually enjoyable to do (well spy missions are not as much, but they are more exciting in comparision to other mmorpg's daily quest). The pvp when you start getting strong is different in a good fun way. When I first joined an escort raid I pretty much got one shot and was tempted to quit then too, glad I didnt.

To end, this game has a LOT to offer (to much for me to describe this late at night). The biggest hurdle is getting over the learning curve as the translation sucks REALLY bad, but once you understand the game it is outstanding. I have never played an asian/kungfu themed game as it is not really my style. This game delievers so much though I cant help but love it (the jumping/flying skills are also a fun different feel)

Agree, this games takes a while to learn. Too bad there are so many people just give up and come here to whine how bad this game is.

Having played on the Russian server for the last month n a bit I can attest that this game is excellent. Cant wait to get into it properly once Age of Wulin launches open beta.

To me the pvp in this game does not guide you to become capable of a fair fight vs your opponent. From the early stage, just after u chosen ur sect, your thrown into a world of wolves, savages and sorts. Higher lvl can do all sorts of harresment on you to ensure you cant progress. Theres nothing you can do except verbal abuses since there is no safe zone. The game is not realistic enough, they should make npc elite constable  going after red names on sight and red names having certain towns where they are only accepted.

Nothing you can do?  But a bounty on the @#$%er.  Next stop jail. . Hell, if someone really goes crazy on the PK's they will throw him in jail for a day then cut his head off at noon for you.

The game actually has a mechanic built in for the kind of griefing you are talking about. If you don't have money, just spam in chat that you need a constable, or just ask the guy to lay off, inquire about his build and what you can do to rip his head off later...the people are actually pretty friendly in this game. It's not LoL.   GET IN A GUILD!  Get in his guild!! Having friends to watch your back never hurts.

Having said that.  I have been "ganked" out in the wilderness a total of 2 times. (When I was just minding my own business) Really, this is the safest open FFA PvP game I've ever played.  I don't feel like everyone in the game is about to cut my tits off just for running by them.

     Quote for truth really.

In UO you go to felluca, Kill on sight

In Darkfall you get out of towns, Kill on sight

    In MO, same as darkfall

In EvE you get out of High sec, Kill on sight

In AoW, not at all,  99% of the ppl i meet in the world are really just goin about their business.  Hell, sometimes it gets boring i actually hope someone is bout to do something crazy.

Yeah, I sometimes wish there were more reasons for open world PvP.

The games you mention all have full loot which is a pretty strong incentive to kill people - they might be carrying something really valuable. On the other hand, it also turns the games into extremely harsh environments for anyone who's not really good at PvP/has a maxed char/is in a top guild.

I thought the game was great, just not for me.  I played it for a solid three weeks, got some stuff done, tried all the stuff I could and I admit it was fun and a great niche game, but I don't see it appealing to many people mainly because there is a learning curve.  A steep learning curve.

But over all I give the game an A, it is not your typical wow clone redone with a gimmick, it is it's own game, and it will surprise you with how involved it really is.  Very refreshing to see a game developer go their own way for a change.

If you want a new idea, go read an old book.

In order to be insulted, I must first value your opinion.

Honestly, unless your part of a guild that is enemies with another guild, which is extremely common, then you'll find yourself getting ganked quite a bit. I got ganked for the first time to day and lead to a chain of insanity. I join a guild and some enemy sub guild ganked me. So then we decided to look for the guild members that ganked me, they were already in jail, so then we start killed allies to the guild that ganked me. Then apprently some women said we killed her so she bought her guild members to gank us but we back handed them, then we encounter the allies of the enemy guild and their main guild who will remain anonymous. Bassiclly we were surrounded and no way out with over 20 people in the area with just the 5 of us. The same woman who attacked us started attacking out vice guild leader so we killed her and then we all got zerged to death. After that happen a cluster fuck of stuff happen, a mini guild war all over shozhu, several guilds that hated the enemy guild showed up and started killing them and their allied guilds. Pretty much any big time guild you can think of in this game was there and you wanna know why they came there? They just wanted an excuse to kill the enemy guild and their allies, now ain't that something? The fight lasted for an hour until everyone scattered.

    TL;DR

The only way someone in this game is getting ganked is by some random newbie pker who will easily meet his/her end swiftly by another players or your part of a group of players that is at war  with someone, choose who you hang out with wisely because quite frankly, everyone got their hands dirty in this game and they will do just about anything to crush their enemies to nothing.
