    I wouldn´t consider it a grind really,but a reward for playing.

Never ever before adquiring rewards was so varied.

Basically you get achievements & laurels and therefore rewards for just playing a bit of everything....

I Love this patch & think was very much needed. Can´t wait for the Feb patch with even more content :)

PD: Haters gonna hate no matter what... As i read the other day...some won´t like it untill it has mounts,Raids,Holy Trinity & open World Pvp...in other words...another game.

    2. temples: now we need like 3k people to get Grenth done, it was not a joke before, now it just too bad to do for like no rewards. Not sure for other temples, but I bet it similar, beside they were not that popular even before update as it more easy to run outposts / escort events for karma.

    3. dungeons: how fun must be wait till we all die and gonna run back all long... what is brilliant social idea! Bravo! beside dungeons were annoying even before + missing finder tool + drop rate continued nerfs = great fun. from many MMO I've played so far, GW2 dungeons were far from my fun pleasant runs, now they became just to avoid.

    4. adding new jewelry will kill skill which is not very demanded already, glad I'm done with when it was profitable. but who cares, economy at GW2 is suffer already.

That all I've noted so far, please add more comments.

People who still like it seems to love any grind etc, so I respect their choice and good luck for them to stay alone at GW2.

I keep asking me why ANet killing game they make, especially feel sorry for GW1 as they were very fun game, before some "nice" updated killed them. And here we go again....

I guess GW2 is now one more game I gonna visit time to time, while playing something fun.

WOW - what can I say - learn what a dodge is. Also, I think you were one of the players that just mashed buttons to 'PEW PEW PEW' mobs to death without thinking about the best way to do it.

I feel this patch was long overdue - it is not a nerf  but a fix for the long term.

Dailies are just something I usually complete by playing a while and just a bonus for playing unlike daily quests so many other games have. This seems to change nothing there, in fact dodging 20 times is something at least I do in a short while.

Then again, I play a theif and the people who play warriors and have learned tactics from watching Rocky movies might actually have to learn how to dodge like everyone else if they want the daily.

Monthly achivements can be somewhat grindy though but daily is and always was a small bonus you get for playing.

I wish all "major nerfs" were like this.

  • VolkonVolkon Member UncommonPosts: 3,748
The biggest tears seem to come from those that managed to get to 80 without ever learning what combo attacks are. Basically you need to be either the initiator or finisher in a combo attack killing blow for a tic on the achievement, but the tears began to flow on the official forums from those that never grasped the combo concept at all. I got that achievment quickly on my mesmer simply by putting Null Field or Feedback bubbles on foes and letting allies attack through them. It was a lot faster than finding allies or npcs to revive for that leg of the daily.

doesn't sound like you should be playing GW2.

neither before nor after the patch.

seriuously, i you hated it so much, why are you playing it?

I attacked random doe and finished dodge daily in 3 minutes. Almost too easy. Revive one I went to some event with dead npcs and was done in 5 min. So far dailies have been easier than ever.

About dodging..you need to dodge an attack, not before the attack.

Actually she has been doing nothing but complaining about everything that is GW2 so I am not surprised to see yet another complaint. I'd also like to add that I havven't agreed with anything she has said so I guess we just have a huge difference of opinion.

Seems like a good update even though I had a tough time finding NPC's to rez.  It figures I can't find any when I'm actually looking for some.  And to get kills you need to have the killing blow apparently, so I just had to go solo for a bit.

Also the explorer achievement's (searching for areas not PoI/Vistas/hearts) is going to be quite the challenge as I have all of the world POI/Vistas/hearts done without a number of the areas uncovered...even though it doesn't look like it.

Not loving the killing blow only thing in WvW kills (not really related to this update).  I WvW for an hour and think I have loads of kills.  Unfortunately someone else must have had the killing blow on most.

    Overall, really nice updates.

calm down m8 you are too nervous, this patch its by far the best one ( anyone notice the nice changes on Hero panel), jezz and now with easy daily and monthlys we can get those nasty drop purple ascended acessories, and most important they fix the culling abuse on WxWxW.

I forgot to tell how nice sound now the sieges , really nice these changes.

I like the patch but I agree with the OP on Grenth (haven't tried all temples but I know Balth was open yesterday so maybe that one is better now). Maybe there is a mechanic that we are missing but I saw 20+ players get one-shotted. Not sure why this fight needed to be changed it was fun and challenging enough for open world content prior to the change.

The only way to make dungeons not a res-run is to make some kind of trinity or increase healing by a lot, then you run into PvP issues and how they have everything else set up. They kind of worked themselves into a corner in how they designed the classes and are limited into what they can do now.

I don't hate GW2, I just find it not good enough to be great game.
Example: GW1 used to be a great game(s)

try before buy, even if it's a game to avoid bad surprises.
Worst surprises for me: Aion, GW2

Did TA runs last night and didn't die once. I don't typically die in CoF runs either but haven't done any since the patch. It is possible to do the dungeons with out the zerg rez there isn't a need for the trinity. I have a decent guild but I often do these with all puggers. They eliminated the stupid res-run strat it's not the only way to run a dungeon.

found what was problem with dodge: you need to cast it in 1 precise moment - just before take a hit, as caster I always fight on retreat so never really dodge, sorry to be noob etc.

I think res and run dungeons are not FUN at all either if you run alone or wait for whole group to join you. I still don't think why it was great to make people wait for wipe then res, sorry again I guess I'm too noob for greatness of this game and fun of these dungeons. Or may be idea was to buy and use instant res from item shop?

I saw like 12 people 1 hit at Grenth and still don't see why they even do it, sorry I can't get this fun and don't see great rewards.

I wanted to make this game better for it can last longer. But seems it so great already, and most of people here enjoy pretty much constant nerfs from release, poor content and annoying dungeons. I guess I'll leave you all alone as I'm about to get few more games now, so I think jumping game GW2 will be safe from me.

Just let you know, in 1 guild I joined we have like max 30/247 people per day on weekends, so mans may be 50 keep playing till now. My second guild was small, only like 40 guys, now like 5 still here...

I believe it because this game is great and fun, no need to be improved and we all love it pretty much.

try before buy, even if it's a game to avoid bad surprises.
Worst surprises for me: Aion, GW2

    Good riddance.

5 months, plus the beta period.  People were complaining about how they could zerg bosses by waypointing back just by doing AC all the way back in beta.

There may be several legit criticisms about GW2's dungeons, but this is unquestionably a good change.  Zerg rushing a boss adds absolutely nothing to gameplay.  It accomodates bad play, discourages learning the encounter's mechanics, detracts from the game's own player res system, and is itself an extremely boring gameplay mechanic.

    1. Maybe I'm imagining things, but I'm pretty sure I was still getting the same incremental XP last night that I've always gotten. Dodging works fine. The rezzing was easy as well, though I tend to revive any allies or NPCs I come across anyways (free xp!).

    2. I can't comment on this one, since I haven't been to Orr since the update.

    3. This was my favorite part of the update, personally. I hated rez-zerging so much.

    4. I don't even know what you're saying here.

This has personally been my favorite update so far.

The same way they get accustomed to any other change.  You'll see a certain few people bitch and moan on forums for a few weeks without really thinking it through, then the change will just be and everyone will be fine with it.  I mean this change is hardly drastic.  It's how virtually every other instanced dungeon MMO operates.

Exactly, those used to bring in max dps spec and zerging will be in for some pain, but eventually they will realise why other are not dying and start using some defensive skills. Good changes all round so far IMO.

    rpg/mmorg history: Dun Darach>Bloodwych>Bards Tale 1-3>Eye of the beholder > Might and Magic 2,3,5 > FFVII> Baldur's Gate 1, 2 > Planescape Torment >Morrowind > WOW > oblivion > LOTR > Guild Wars (1900hrs elementalist) Vanguard. > GW2(1000 elementalist), Wildstar

Now playing GW2, AOW 3, ESO, LOTR, Elite D

OP.  I am sorry that you are having problems dodging. Even though I find it extremely easy, you might be having issues with it because of poor internet connection or some other personal issue.  The dodge mechanic works well for me, and I probably dodge 20 times by the time I've fought 10 regular mobs.  I hope that through practice or troubleshooting you can figure out how to utilize the mechanic.

That being said, everything that I've seen with this patch has been an improvement, and I personally felt they didn't make the dailies hard enough.

All of my posts are either intelligent, thought provoking, funny, satirical, sarcastic or intentionally disrespectful. Take your pick.

I get banned in the forums for games I love, so lets see if I do better in the forums for games I hate.

I enjoy the serenity of not caring what your opinion is.
