Oh, and I did buy the 3 tailoring recipes that I found on player stores, but I never found any additional recipes.  I'm fine with buying them from people that run instances and loot them.  I just never found any past those 3.

I'm not sure about the exact percent, but so far we can only craft up to silver quality. There is still gold and jade after that.  Zones, skill sets, the battle ground system, recipies, etc..

The personal stall system is forieng to most of us western gamers. Yes, you can walk up and go stall just like a market, OOOOR you can hit the little scales on the bottom right, from anywhere in the scene, and get a list of all stalls, or have item listed by type, like ore, weapons, pills ect..

This game does NOT look sandbox too me either.

People will still call it a sandbox tho.

I've seen people call GW2 and similar games a sandbox. Please.

So I generaly understand some are confused and want AoW to be one as well.

But to be fair and reconcile, I'd call it a hybrid.

People need to go read up on sandboxes and then understand anything themepark can easily be in a sandbox, and doesnt make it a hybrid or a themepark. Since a sandbox does everything a themepark does and then some.

There is no clear cut way a sandbox has to be, long as there is freedom, choice, and openess. Which AOW has.

I completely agree with this........apparently there is no real definition of a sandbox, and most people just create their own definition of what it means to them. I'm not fond of Age of Wushu at all, but then again I don't have the time to invest in something like that game.

I care I was lied that AoW was sandbox but in reality is the worst scam ever.

Things that make this game sandbox according to fanboys: No restrictions - Say what??? I had a quest to go to the guild NPC and he gave me a quest to make my own guild or join a guild but I couldn't cause I was restricted by my "growth" ops another thing that came to mind this game has no levels??? really??? I can't join a guild cause I'm too weak yet??? isn't that what leveling is??? so pretty much you gain different titles that characterise your levels for example: mind and body are weak or something stupid like that.

Some here said you don't have to touch quests at all...really??? I did only quests and thats how I got sword style and like 20 skills if I didn't I would never had those skills.

To the guy who says cash shop is not a problem,I deleted this game and can't get screenshots of everytime I was asked to go topoff real money to my account it was so often its not even funny. I played total of 3 hours was asked about 30+ times to go add money everytime I pressed to add a skill or something and at the end to open my shop or gain offline skills that's the biggest unfainess I ever seen in these scam games.

AoW and GW2 in the same sentence is like saying WoW and SWG in the same.

Yes, for your first couple hours of the tutorial AoW is a linear, hand holding themepark.

From the start till the end(all day) all I saw was daisy chained quests and they were so stupid you don't have to read or figure out anything you simply click on NPC name or place where you have to go for the quest then just go to a bathroom break or smoke cause your character will go there autorunning.

Looks like a fun solo/single player game cause if you want to PvP at all you have to pay more then you make by working in real life.

Sound like EVE Online. Pick up mission from NPC, click autopilot, bathroom break or smoke.

Never played Eve, all I play are fantasy MMORPG the rest not interested.

don't worry, he did neither :)

and if, he was only in low lvl pve.

Good, as I can't see where I mentioned both in the same sentence. And neither have I compared those two. I however compared the mentality behind people calling games sandbox even tho the said games are not sandbox - pointing out that some would probably call even WoW a sandbox, and that under this light it's rather easy to understand AoW has been and will be called out as a sandbox by some players.

I think those fan goggles you wear are getting thicker. ;-)

I agree it is not a sandbox. I would classify it as a sandpark. There are little "sandboxs" that give you a little bit of a sandbox feel, but they are not all interconnected. There is a support structure of a themepark which hold your hand and takes you over to each sandbox so you can build a castle or whatever, then it takes your hand and guides you over to another one. That is my look on it.

Not a bad game, but not a sandbox. This is a sandpark in my opinion.

There is more than combat alone.Strange as it may seem, some people like crafting and farming mats.If AoW is the best place for these kind of people?  IMHO no, there isnt much depht: almost zero progression in farming(buy it, plant it. or just click on the shiny rock)

well i didnt play it, but from what i read - isnt mats farming w/o combat impossible? i mean, it has open world pvp after i think 5. or 10. level in ANY (including crafting) school is reached, and therefore you have to train combat to be able to defend yourself, dont you?

Explain what your talking about in game terms.

Maybe people are saying it's a blend because it has themepark elements added in? If you put space dungeons in EVE would it be a themepark?

Almost every game has sandbox elements, but I agree with you as there is no official sandbox mmorpg definition.

    Bottom line is always fun.

This is it, I have to react to this...How the hell you bring Eve to the argument you cant compare eve with a asian milkthecawcashshopgame that tries to ripyouofflikecasinosdo.

You know I give up call it sandbox all you want and go pay your paycheck to that chinese pos.

Sorry to say the game is Sandbox. However it has quests at the beginning to get you all your abilities and teach you how things work in the game. By the third day i no longer have quests to do, that being said when i log in i have a ton of things i want to get done for the day.

    Because i can.

The above statement is the only thing that matters. If you enjoy it - great and have fun. If you don't like it - move on and play some other game.

Why do folks seem to think there has to be a set rule for sandboxes?  And what's this sandpark nonsense?  When sandboxes were "all the rage" we all clammored for more "content," and when we got it people began to say, "That's not really a sandbox.  It's more a sandpark!"

Ok, ok getting on a tangent there.  I think a lot of people don't truely like sandboxes in the first place.  Unless you're an Eve player or a player of some of the lesser known titles, there's not a lot out there that isn't considered "Old."

    Saga of Ryzom

    SWG

    Eve

    Salem

    Second Life

Those are a few examples of  sandboxes.  All are / were very different in approach and design.  Typically there is no hand-holding in sandboxes.  No colored paths and arrown pointing you to the next goal.  The key to a good sandbox is community interdependence.  There's a reason SWG only allowed one character per server for example.  The end-user experience in a sandbox is totally dependent on his or her interactions with their peers.  In other words, the entire point of it being "sandbox" in the first place is that the content, economy, and experience is player made and driven.

    /soapbox off

    Greatest sandbox ever!..

Pick one school..stay with it forever...no option to change. Impressive freedom...cough..

UUU..and quest....must do quest...what other choice...quest forever.  And after 10 posts of "fanboys" keeping their little dream theme...err...sandpack...box! box!. You know what? DO another 10 posts. Because it's just a sandbox with quests right?

    Yeaaa....themebox....

Damn...can't attack this guy...because the game won't let me..why...because..just because.

    I don't want to join any school!! ANY! Be free...murder anyone...but I can't, because this is a sandbox....ow...wait....what?

    /sarcasm OFF

This game is a sandbox as much as I am the King of China.

If schools were removed, quest done in an "optional way of playing"(like EVE)...then it could have been a sandbox....hmm...maybe. And come on, that NPC can definetly fetch that bread from the cook...really....

I bet I can play LOTRO without touching any quest at all...does that make it a sandbox?...

Good game though...but not a sandbox, you are pretty much forced into a direction.

How this game differs from all the asian free2play trash out there cause I didn't see any difference.

Also prepare to pay mad money cause its a PvP game and cashshop heavy.

I dont get excited one iota about any MMos anymore...The reason why is that they all display the same pattern: Game announces beta, game releases minute details that are most likely not even accurate, players conjecture what they think the game is going to be like, players get into beta and realize it is nothing like what they think, game gets paaned mercilessly and is nothing new to the genre.
