Cain Velasquez destroyed my Age of Wushu!

I was big fan of oriental martial arts and games but after 8 years in wing chun kung fu i got my ass kicked by one mma boxer, wrestler. My dream was destroyed  after that and i realised that  all of this asian martial arts are nothin more than ballet. I know that show must go on and that some people need to live in dreams but for me is game over. Give me 2hand nordic sword and i could brake 200 catanas. No more wushu for me.     Don't the ultimate fighting championships usually go to the judo/wrestling guys?

    In any case, martial arts are supposed to be about discipline, not just about kicking someone's ass.

    Also, I did see some comparison of a katana and a large broad sword where the katana actually did much better cutting through various targets. But I suppose the fighting styles are also different.

    In any case, here's that for ha ha's as I'm sure people can argue the pro's and con's of the demonstration.

    So because one fighter beat your ass, you think martial arts are bullshit?  Am I right in that?  It couldn't have anything to do with the fact that you just sucked at fighting or that particular fighter was simply better than you?  Seriously.  If there was one art that could rule them all, everyone would take it.  The fact of the matter is different strokes for different folks.  Also, what the fuck does a katana have to do with Chinese martial arts?  Nothing.  Japense = katana.  As far as your Nordic sword breaking katanas?  Okay.  I will give you that.  The art of kenjutsu isn't about sword against sword, it is sword against flesh.  Finesse.   Look that last word up.

    I got started doing shaolin 5 animals kung fu and recieved a brown sash.  From there I got into MMA and eventually became a pro fighter so i can attest to the effectiveness of MMA for a modern combat sport.  The kung fu in this game and mostly that is still practiced today was from a different time and had different purposes.  

     

    I personally have seen it work effectively in a street fight but the only problem is most of the McDojo instructors arent real fighters and have never used their techniques outside out point sparring (freeze tag) or doing forms.  There are exceptions however.

    You will never EVER learn how to fight another human no matter which techniques you practice by doing a form in fixed movements if that is all you do.

     

    Now back to the game...I love the kung fu in it and the motion capture animations of alot of the moves.  Really cool game and era.

    velasquez is tough, but he's not really that good.  his nipples are intimidating though.

    I think i need few months to overcome my defeat. For now i don't want to see Kung Fu even in games.

    Not really that good?  LOL.  Hes the heavyweight champion of the largest MMA promotion in the world.  

    He beat the piss out of Dos Santos, who I am a big fan of for 5 rounds straight.  I mean total domination.  

    When you say not good, what are you comparing him to.....a nuclear weapon?
