I can't help but notice that there's PvP daily quests where you can kill other players or pvp flagging npcs. You can opt out of the PvP if you don't want to, since there are also PvE dailies as well. I'm glad to hear about this, and was expecting something like this after 5.1 was launched, open world pvp on my server skyrocketed after 5.1. I don't think it's possible to go through krasarang wilds without seeing at least a few flagged players, during peak hours it's like an all out war

Exactly. On PvE servers, you are going to see a few people flagged here and there.. but very little actual fighting. PvP servers will be the same as any other time they add dailies to a small, shared area..
I really don´t think you are going to see many players on PvE servers opt-into the pvp dailies... mainly because it takes a lot longer to complete.
It is great the Blizzard keeps trying this stuff, nothing wrong with that... but the problem is just efficiency and the playerbase. If the devs make the pvp dailies the fastest way to finish, then pve players will complain about being forced into pvp.
rpg/mmorg history: Dun Darach>Bloodwych>Bards Tale 1-3>Eye of the beholder > Might and Magic 2,3,5 > FFVII> Baldur's Gate 1, 2 > Planescape Torment >Morrowind > WOW > oblivion > LOTR > Guild Wars (1900hrs elementalist) Vanguard. > GW2(1000 elementalist), Wildstar
Now playing GW2, AOW 3, ESO, LOTR, Elite D
gank a lowbie multiple times in a row; he will go full emo; log in his mains or call friends and blammo: you got world PVP inc.
"going into arguments with idiots is a lost cause, it requires you to stoop down to their level and you can't win"
WoW is reward oriented. If, after so many years, someone still plays WoW, you can be almost sure that they're the kind of games for whom rewards mean everything. There are exceptions, RP players, but they make about 5% of the population, probably even less. Therefore, people doing stuff in WoW "for the sake of it" are extremely hard to find.
Just doesn't work like that the majority of the time anymore, they are more likely to go play an alt until they think you have gone away and then carry on from where they left off. Used to love it when the Horde would launch assaults on SW and all levels would run to join in the fun, but now if you get a SW attack message (very rarely) no-one really cares. The classic retaliation would be a raid on Crossroads, again with all levels and abilities having a go, getting a couple of lowbies to lure a L60 out to be ambushed by a couple of rogues was so much fun, but again, there is a general 'meh' about PvP now which is a shame.
