Wow, that had to hurt to back them just to find the project crumble then them so lightly sluff it off since they used their name all over that Kickstarter and took responsibility - now it's ask the other company about refunds huh. Their names did appear there 5 and 6 times each on the kickstarter while Winterkewl was only 4 times so they got their name listed more owning the project.

That's gotta hurt - right in the fibula.

Oof, that explains why there seemed to be no talk of that game in recent times.

You know what's funny? The game they are offering says it costs 9.99 - minimum backer in their KS paid 15 bucks.

Old thread though yeah guess it makes sense to res it since it is talking of an update on it. As far as I know those who paid into the kickstarter are apparently getting some other game free as a kind of 'sorry' note by the Yogscast, granted at the same time its not exactly something that can completely ammend the fact people put in money towards a project that fell through.

    http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-07-16-blurred-lines-are-youtubers-breaking-the-law

In the statement Mark Turpin, Yogscast's CEO and business development manager, confirms that the company engages in revenue-share coverage with game developers. "We're working with a few selected partners on limited duration rev shares around our content covering the game," he said, revealing the team's name for the proposal as 'YogsDiscovery'. "We don't allow for any stipulations as to the content we release when working with publishers, our voice is always our voice," he added.

Regarding the disclosing of paid-for advertorial Turpin insists that the channel always includes "a written description below the video." Turpin refused to say when this became the channel's policy, but stated that the text the channel now uses to comply with regulations is the somewhat opaque line: 'A special thanks to [Developer/Publisher] for making this video possible.' Tuprin added that, "As our content doesn't go through any form of client approval it isn't qualified as an advertisement by the Advertising Standards Agency. That being said, they are satisfied by our wording and distinctions made from our other content."

it double posted but I'll fit it with something - there you go for anyone who watches yogscast - realize that they are being paid extra if that text is in a description and you probably aren't getting a valid review - it can also show as YogDiscovery comments

Someone talking about it on YT.

le sigh - everyone sells out don't they

I can't believe anyone would watch their show or support them in any way after this. That's a lot of money for a little indie game. Other teams have done cool things with less. There should also be some sort of accountability in place for crowd funded projects. It's one thing for a project to disappoint in its delivery, but it's another thing altogether just to not deliver anything at all. Hopefully crowdfunding will evolve. It's unfortunate that quality projects have to be associated with asshats like these guys.

How can they sell out if it's been part of their business model from the word go?

As for the game Lewis seems to be trying to compensate people.
