Sub fee + cash shop

i'd gladly pay the sub, but why a cash shop too if you're getting box price and sub?

as long as they don't port over their convenience model here it's fine i guess. don't wanna be paying a sub and see people who spend in the CS leveling faster than me or having twice the inventory space.

    Blegh. I don't like it. Take the items from the cash shop and put them in game as obtainable objects. Sub should pay for that.

     

    On the other hand, just because their payment model is like that in Korea does not necessarily mean that they will use that same model in NA/EU.

    I think the days of sub only games are dwindling.

    It costs money to make these games and developers want to stay in business or at least pay for their game up front as quickly as possible.

    I expect whomever is their US publisher to not be naive enough to do sub + cs. Doing a sub will be risky enough, with a cs it will probably end up like TSW and have to change their model at some point. People don't like double dippin....

    That is the pricing they have set for S.Korea. Not for when they decide to bring the game over to the west.  Yes there is a chance that it will be the same model here but remains PURE speculation.

    Expect every game coming out to be all about getting your cc out of your wallet.

     

    We all know, F2P is the best option for us gamers! :D it cost more, but you decide when and what to buy... weeee! We're so lucky!

     

    Start with 10 inventory slots, and 10 bank slots, it's so cool, love to pay for the simple stuff, makes my gametime so much more enjoyable!

     

    And paying for 50 things, instead of finding/unlocking them with time-played in those pesky P2P games, is so much more fun.. Cause we all have jobs you know, we don't have time to play video games!

    They might choose the whole freemium bit.

    Essentially there will be a cash shop but if you pay a sub then you get "tokens" to spend in the cash shop.

    Cosmetic Cash shops dont bother me at all. I have a few friends who have the cash to spend on worthless items for there char. You enjoy the game the way you want.

     

    Not sure whats for sale at there cash shop yet. I am looking forward to this game. Im hoping for stuff to do and a game to really get back into for hours on end. This game seems to have that, PLUS Im hoping its a grind.

     

    After Aion, I wanted a no grind game. I played GW2. After GW2 Im back to looking forward to a grindy type game.

     

    Any word on whats for sale in the cash shop?

    I don't mind the cash-shop ontop of purchase + sub, as long as it's like GW2... cosmetic / no advantages.

    I just badly need this!

    Sure the combat, questing and whatnot is similar to modern day Themeparks.. i can live with that if theres MORE and AA certainly offers alot more!!

    It depends on the type of items obtainable in the cash shop.

    If it's WoW like cash shop, then I dont care. It would not influence my gaming experience at all.

    If there were items which would give advantage to players who spend the money, then it would be pretty bad.

    Neither scenario would be a deal breaker for me. Game mechanisms, features, principles are still more important for me than existence / non-existence of cash shop.

    If it's like World of Warcraft's shop, it won't bother me at all. I don't mind paying the subscription fee if it's a good mmorpg, in fact I'd rather they raise the subscription fee to $25-$50 and do away with the cash shops.

    As far as I know, they have not said there will be one in the western release.

    I personally think that there will be subscription + cash shop in the western version of the game. Hopefully, not P2W cash shop.

    I've been trying to tell people that this game isn't nearly the sandbox savior it's made out to be.  It's going to end up as just another P2W cash shop korean grindfest, but with a more open-world structure.

    GW2 still messes it up by pushing the cash shop on to players during gameplay.  The reason people like WoW's "cash shop" is because it's completely seperate from the game itself.  There are no buttons to click to purchase currency, and no items or features in game that need the shop to function (or even reference it at all).  It keeps the immersion factor solid

    What about a box/DL price? I would think it will have this aswell. 

     

    So what else is new?  I don't hink you will see another mmorpg launch with out a minmum of two of the three, if not all three. I have no problems with it, for the most part, as long as there are way more items in game than the CS.

     

    Now a 40-60 box price can be ifffy though.

    As long as it's not pay to win, it's fine.  I just hope they utilize the shop properly. 

     

    GW2 for instance has good store in terms of ease of use, but the items they are selling is very lacking, especially the clothing options. If a company is going to have a shop, they should utilize it more fully.  More appearance options like clothes, hair, armor, etc.  Every day I log in I look and am disappointed.  I finally bought some more inventory space, though I didn't really need it, just wanted it.

    For people wondering why the subscription price is slightly higher, it's because p2p games in Korea have no "box" to buy, you just sign up for a subscription.

    This model isn't going to work. When will these people learn? it is very strange to see  an already niche title to take road of monthly sub and cash shop. Guess someone is too over confident of their game.
