Dog?

So I'm trying out Age of Wushu as I write this and just completed a quest where the chef had run out of meat. He sent me off to the hunter, who gave me some weapons and advised me to go hunt Wild Dogs for the chef. This appears to be correctly translated too.

Certainly worth the download I guess :)

This game is historically accurate down to nearly every last detail.

If in 1982 we played with the current mentality, we would have burned down all the pac man games since the red ghost was clearly OP. Instead we just got better at the game.

Yeah I failed the Asian litmus test. The guy said to go kill a dog and I swear for a good 10 mins I was going around wondering if I could skip it. I mean you can but it's kind of built into the novice quest chain. So I went looking for the meanest dog but the ones by that npc look so friendly :(

I hoped maybe they would atack me or something so it wouldn't be so bad but no luck they just stand there waiting to die. I tried telling myself these are virtual dogs but that didn't seem to help much either. In the end I sucked it up and used my throwing knives on one. I can still hear its screams :(

Now I'm a cook and sure enough dog is on the menu. But as you get further along there are red con dogs that attack you and are crazy so it makes it easier lol.

I remember there was a quest like that in Conan too where you had to kill dogs for meat. But yeah like peopel said, it's historically accurate and we don't want things to start getting edited for western audiences so it's just something that will be here.

I don't see anything wrong with it. Back in 1974 I lived on Guam, at Anderson AFB. We had a lot of folks who worked on the base who were native to Guam and the south east Pacific areas. It was a delicacy to eat black dog.

We were invited to a wedding off base. The main course of the food was black dog. Now we being American's invited to a wedding and being served black dog was the almost unheard of. Black dog is reserved for only the best and important folks. I remember the fellow taking me out back and showed me his pen of dogs and said you had this ones brother, at the next wedding we will have him. I was a bit shocked but then I took it as a great honor, knowing these folks ate dog all the time but black dog is a step above for them, and for them to offer to an outsider such as I, that was something else.

I would go back to Guam any day and go back to Yigo village. I just understand that it is part of the culture, and respect their views. After returning stateside you don't see me eating dog.

Actually many of the developers of Age of Wushu are dog lovers.

Did anyone notice there is a big yellow dog wandering around in Yangyu Villa?

He is actually based on a real dog at the Snail Games developers' office in China  (sort of like their mascot).

The dog can be affected by acts of kidnapping and players killing in front of him :)
