Cant find a group!

So I am at the salt guard mission for my Wudang and one other person tried to help but gave up after one try. We got smashed

by the sheer number or mobs to fight. Seems it will require 3-4 people at least. That kind of sucks since I cant find anyone for the last hour. I like the game so far but I tend to solo mostly since my hours have changed and my usual game buddies are now a 3 hour difference. Assume I will have to give up on the storyline for a bit.

If you are on the storyline mode you should be able to solo it with the help of the high level NPC Zhang - just let him engaged the boss alone and stay clear of the boss's AOE attack and don't aggro.

If you have trouble staying alive solo against the mobs than try to attempt it when you have more than level 10-12 of your 1st inner skills.

Make sure you have enough space in your bags because among the rewards would be your 3rd or 4th flying skills (out of the more 25 flying skills in game).

ROFL?!  really?   yet another game that is easier if you just do stuff by yourself, and discourages grouping?

    when will it end.

The way mmo's were: Community, Exploration, Character Development, Conquest.

The way mmo's are now : Cut-Scenes,Cut-Scenes, solo Questing, Cut-Scenes...

Actually this storyline quest is consider the tutorial on grouping, battle formation,  phasing and NPC companion, so it is on "easy mode" - with the NPC companion provide the firepower if necessary.

Solo it on normal mode is not so easy.

I like how someone is willing to assume about the game before actually testing the waters for themselves. There is a free trial version of the game during closed beta if you have your doubts about partying.

However, the game is based around schools, guilds, and parties. As someone else stated; the first dungeon has a "tutorial" quest for players to be guided through a mini instance. In no way does that mean the game has easily soloable instances that discourages grouping.

The game is a sandbox built around a player-based economy. Players need to group up and run dungeons to collect recipes and progress. Each dungeon has their difficulty levels and they require "attuning" in a sense. Where the player needs to reach a specific inner status and obtain array skills to help progress through the game.

Guild wars, school wars, team practices, escorting, guild bases, sneak attacks, script stealing, dungeons, mini instances, and world bosses are all examples of the group content that they have in-game. The game is entirely emphasized around group content. Even the crafting requires players to work together to further progress their characters.

So in the end, this game does not focus on content that's easily done by yourself. If you're willing to get very far into this game you're going to have to work together inorder to progress.

Somebody, somewhere has better skills as you have, more experience as you have, is smarter than you, has more friends as you do and can stay online longer. Just pray he's not out to get you.

Tip for new characters:  If you choose the 4th storyline when creating a new character, you will start in Chengdu City, which is the busiest town, full of other players, pvp'ing, crafting, questing, and trading.

If you've already made a character in a different starter zone, be sure to travel to Chengdu City (SW China) and add its teleport location (T).

Also, after joining a school, use the "school chat" tab to find groups, for team practice, or any in game questions.
