Hype being manipulated downward?

evemaster00evemaster00 Member Posts: 171

A few hours ago this game had 8.33 hype.

Now it has 8.15. How did it drop so fast? This seems unusual.

With only 45 hype votes, every vote will 'manipulate' the rating

Well, I just cast my vote.

Definitely looking forward to seeing this one. Trion have done great things with Rift and hopefully this won't be any different!

Just lots of sandboxers trying to keep hope alive with Darkfall. The hype rating here will probably be the only positive thing about it.

Darkfall isn't even a sandbox lol.

And this is coming from someone who followed Darkfall for years before its first release, as the next great sandbox. And I played it for several months at launch.

Full loot with pvp does not make a game sandbox.

Though i do agree i would not be surprised if Darkfall players rate down games that beat Darkfall in an attempt to get Darkfall higher on the list. Darkfall being top on the list is nothing but a sad joke.

Thanks for posting this thread.  Did my part and hyped it @1.

    Hope this helps.

Do what you want, the hype meter on this site isn't going to make Darkfall any better. The game is going to fail, again. I was once one of the most promiment preachers of the Darkfall way, but no more. The game sucks.

I have never bothered to look at a game's hype rating much less vote on it. I am always looking for details. To me the site is a useful tool and fun place to write about games with other players sometimes. Not a twitter trend o meter or what have you. But then again I am not in the industry or have any vested intrest in seeing the hype rise high in hopes of dollar returns.
