there was WarZ, but that was a disaster of a game.
Next best hope is DayZ standalone, due out next year (no release date). The mod is a lot of fun, so hopefully the standalone is even better.

I'm hopeful for a Zombie MMO, but an MMO based on the walking dead would have nothing to do with the walking dead and the name would simply be there to cash in on.

Undead Labs is working on a Zombie MMO but first they are doing the single player game that the MMO will be based on. It's a sandbox open world Zombie survival game that looks pretty ambitious. Has a lot of talent from through out the gaming Industry coming from companies such as Blizzard, NCSoft and Anet.
