Basically, it's an advanced pet that can do more than just kill. Why no MMO has added this and made complete bank on the idea is beyond me. There are several MMOs this would be great for.

    And the oldest profession.

Self-pity imprisons us in the walls of our own self-absorption. The whole world shrinks down to the size of our problem, and the more we dwell on it, the smaller we are and the larger the problem seems to grow.

Paying someone to be an "advanced pet" in a game? Good lord.

I am with Vesavius on this one and think it's a pretty good idea. I don't see it as someone is socially inept or can't find friends, more as someone who want's to do things their way and has someone to help out. Although a lot of the themeparks don't really need other people for the majority of the game, there is some content that it helps. I also play with my wife so I don't suffer from being solo, but I can see how boring it is when shes not around and my guildies aren't interested in my antics for the day. All said though, I wouldn't pay for this. I would just find others in game of like mind really.

Paying representatives of the oldest profession to sit down and grind grauls (pardon the pun) in a galaxy far, far away. Nice.

It's extremely reasonable. I only wish I thought of it and could rent my services. Still, 33.00 for 20 hours is not really going to pay the rent.

Have we really become this pathetic as a community that we now have to pay for a friend in a video game?

Is simply reaching out to others already on your own server and seeking help there so undesirable that people would rather pay for it? Are we really that antisocial?

    Seriously?

    Good lord.

In a genre where so much about it is based around "being able to play with my friends", and measures such as level-sync'ing and the like are introduced to make that easier, it's pathetic that people would have to go out and pay for a 'friend' to help them.

It's just ridiculous. It's a "company" looking to profit on anti-social behavior among gamers.

The website, the concept behind it, and anyone seriously promoting it deserve to be mocked. That you suggest that they should  "call it something other than "friend"" only underscores how ridiculous the idea is.

A good, solid idea doesn't need to be obfuscated through tricky semantics to make it seem "more reasonable".

"Are your social skills so poor that you even fail at making friends online? No problem! Just rent one!"

I mean seriously... Does anyone else agree that the idea of milking players in any way these scumbags can conceive of has gone beyond being old? What's next? Renting your own live-in gaming buddy to log in and play the game for you while you're out?

Exactly.  Stupid to lose an account for doing something dumb like this.

Just what I want to do, give my account info to some stranger so they can play for me... As if account issues weren't bad enough.

This sounds "safe" and "legit"... Good Lord

But if you are paying them then they are not a slave?

Slave trade would not be slave trading if there were no monetary value for the slaves involved. Sure you could just enslave someone, but buying from a slaver is quite common concept too. I dont think it makes no difference either if these "slaves" are voluntary or not, only thing that matters is do these slaves obey you or not, right?

Call me old fashioned... but I'd rather actually make a real friend rather than pay for one.

Well it sounds superficial but imo ,it is not a bad idea you know.

People are spending REAL money on what?Virtual items, that you will NEVER own,so if you spent some money on a real person,is it all that bad?

Is there any difference from the dating sites? How many millions using them?

I think people shoudl open up a bit, this is not selling porn,or trying to miselad people with advertising,it is simply offering a service. If they can deliver on their promise, which i beleive they probably will, then i see no problems here.

I know somewhere ,someone is getting all ancey thinking they don't want their 12 year old hooking up with some pedofile.Well is it any different than actual in game players?

I think al lthat is needed is perhaps proof of ID or age verifications.
