Bad game design/planning...

Well, I logged in today to test out the new patches. It's been a week or two since I played and I reviewed the game.

Here is my adventure. I joined the lowest population server I could find, which was 30 players. I headed torward a town in the Northwest Region along the river. Took me about 20 minutes of running/walking to get there (Ultra boring)

As soon as I get to the town, I find a bat. (Lucky) Then I use proximity chat, "Anyone here? I'm only here to kill zombies"   One guy responds, "Don't come into this town, it's mine".... So I look at his name, he is a bandit. Instead of leaving, I used prone to hide in the bushes. (This entire thing has been lasting 15 minutes so far)  After 15 minutes, I notice he left the server. I spent another 10 minutes crawling around to see if the town was empty. CONFIRMED, the town was clear. There were zombies in the streets, inside..... After I go into the town, I had to clear a few zombies with my bat.

Then guess what happens? And this is why this game just doesn't work. After 45 minutes of this "adventure", I used careful scouting techniques to make judgement calls and this happens:

Two guys spawn right near me in a police station. SERVER HOPPERS and they kill me instantly with machine guns. I'm sitting there with a bat, took 45 minutes to get to where I was and then this. If you can just server hop, there are Sooooooo many ways to exploit the game. Camping gun spawns, ammo, getting away from danger.... Yet the game tries to be realistic with hunger/thirst.....

How can you "scout" an area, using binoculars and sound, if someone can just spawn near you and get the jump on you after a lot of work?

This is just one example of how the game just doesn't work.

A few more quick examples:

1.) Guns... If you find a gun, you can pay REAL MONEY for infinite ammo. If you don't have a gun, you will die. Which makes the game cash shop heavy unless you spend 50 hours looking for a gun because you will die many times trying and when you finally find a gun, you can just die and lose it again either legit, to hackers, or to server hoppers.

2.) Hackers are still there.... Wallhacks, aimbots, ect.... Every server I join, there are people saying there are hackers and they are laughing at us because they haven't been banned since day one supposedly.

3.) Respawn time of 1 hour.... Factor in everything, this game becomes unplayable with the 1 hour death lockout.

This is a spot on depiction of what this game is like. The whole game from its inception is nothing more than a mod for War Inc. They have simply added zombies and a bigger map. They refuse to buy a commercial anti-cheat system and therefore the script kiddies are everywhere. There are very few honest players left in the game. Those that aren't using cheat programs are heavilty exploiting the poor game design like server hopping. The newest patch also gave these exploiters the ability to 'climb' and fire from the tops of trees.

The whole game is a cheat. Buying this game is a serious waste of time and money.

This pretty much sums it up, and I hope if a reader sees this, and they only follow one piece of advise, it's this.  I won't even get into all the shady and really unprofessional stuff that the developers have been doing, but if you are interested search google, or if really needed I can send links.  There are two things I want to add to the OP's thread.

First the few defenders of this game like to remind players that it's alpha/beta etc.  Let me ask you a question, and seriously think about this.  Why are they decreasing the cost of the game?  The lowest entry level bundle started off at release at 29.99, then dropped to 24.99, and is now a flat $15.  If you are paying for a preorder/prepurchase, why is the price dropping?  I understand a game over time after release drops in value to entice new players, but this is a preorder.  Why should my prepurchase cost more than the next guy's prepurchase, when the game hasn't even released yet?  They are hemorrhaging players and at this point it's a desperate cash grab before the floor falls out from under them.  People are realizing they have been duped.

Second for those who were looking for a zombie survival game I really hate to break this to you (I really do, I want one too but I am waiting for standalone DayZ), it is not what you think.  This is a first person shooter, with a zombie theme.  Zombies are little more than an annoyance.  This is a "Other player survival game", where you sneak around and search for supplies, so you can sneak around and shoot at other players.  If that's your thing then that's cool, but there are way better games out there if you want to do that.

Wow, this game sounds truly awful. Everything I've read about it on mmorpg indicates that it's a complete and utter failure.

Devs sound like holier than thou jerks with poor game design skills.  This game will deservedly be a financial bust.

pretty sure they already made alot of money from warz considering the amount of developemnt time they spent on it (5 months)

there are 2 types of mmo, imitators and innovaters.

Nice write up OP, it's a good thing I came here to read about this game before I purchased a few copies of it via steam for me and some of my guild mates, I'd hate to scout an area that takes an hour or a long time all for not just to have some asshole server hop on you and instantly kill you right away. And hackers are in every game but I've never read so many complaints about it in a new game that just released...

This game seems to be a blue-print of the gaming industry of our present time.

    1) Announce a game or maybe just copy another game that was very successful; no need to think about new ideas

    2) spend more money on hype and ads, than the actual gameplay

    3) Make a game that is just a stinking piece of cr..

    4) watch masses of people buy it

    5) grab the money, shut it down, kkthxbye

Yeah server hopping is just bad they need to put a 10 min cool down in or somthing to stop people doing it. or if they do quit out of a server and join another one and they dont wait the 10 mins then it spawns them at a stadnard spawn location on the map not where they logged off.

and why write this here and not in the propper forum so  sergey and co could read it?

the game is STILL in beta, and it needs feedback, something that sergey highlighted often enough (and he won't stop doing so).

what you did here is trolling. constructive feedback has to reach a receiver.

^Game has been released. You don't release a Beta product, especially if the product's only competitor is a free Arma2 mod that, despite being in Alpha, is in a far better shape.
