Is this a theme park?
It doesn't appear to be one, but I need someone in the CBT to tell me for sure.
Is this a game on rails?
If I don't like my character after about 24 gameplay hours and I want to do something else, do I have to repeat exactly the same thing on my new char, or is there completely separate starting areas and alternatives?
Are there crafting and weapons/armor, and is it difficult?
Is leveling professions something that is easymode, or is it challenging and impactful on gameplay?
Is there any sort of economy on this game?
Thanks!

I was in the CBT1 and no this is not a themepark. It is a pretty awesome game!
There is crafting, and resource gathering, and other stuff. There is more then 1 starter area. Depends on what storyline you choose for you character. When starting the game you go through a "tutorial" and then eventually pick which school you wat to be a student at. I beleive there are 6 schools (Shaolin Monks FTW). The school are in a constant struggle for power! You can steal books from the other school at a certain time of day and actually learn some of the other school skillsthat way. You can spy on the other school..........lots to do!
I played as a Shaolin Monk and I played the wiqi (musical insturment) lol. I was a farmer, hunter, fisher, and cook! I chose cook out of all the scrafting because when you begin to starve you hp will drop and you will run around with 30% less hp then you would if you had a full belly lol. I didnt get a chance to check out the weapon smithing or tailoring and stuff yet. The game is very fun and very addicting lol.
So in order to level your skills you need to train them by cultivation your sp (cant remember what exactly its called) So basically you need enough xp to convert to exp to gain lvls for your skill. You can "group train" with other in the world where you all practice martial arts at the same time. Really cool idea!
There is open world pvp. When you log out of the game your character remains in game as an offline NPC and will do random thing in the world which will gain you a bit of coins and exp while your not playing. But you can be kidnapped by other players while offline lol.
I'm sure im missing alot of information but there is just so much to this game! Def chekc it out, it is worth a play! I got my beta key for the last beta and liked it so much I bought the $10 founders pack lol. Send me a private message and if they give me another 5 beta keys to give to friends I will send you on through private message on the forums! Cheers mate!
You do know it's a FFA PVP game although it does have PVE as well, right?
Their is a lot of info in this section of the forum but look here for some great info.
Age Of Wushu is not an easy game to master and it will take time to progress especially because it is an Asian port from China. The UI is a bit of a pain but that's where reading everything comes into play, it also has no voice overs which is one of my dislikes.

That is because Wuxia lore is more interesting
Anyway, you can engaged in nation against nation warfare (of a sort) in AoW.
If you participate in the Yanyun 16 states National Battleground (currently only available in China version) you are auto-selected to fight on the side of Mongols or the Ming Empire NPC armies.
Yangyun 16 States Battleground in Age of Wushu (China version)
For comparison purposes, the scale of this battleground is around the size of Alterac Valley in WOW (48 vs 48 players).

The system is smart enough in lettin you think this is a sandbox but it really forces you to follow his game and rules to progress. This game is one gigantic daily quest from wow, china style, and it's so full of rules you may forget you are actually bound to them, so probably a good thing for many but not for me.
On rails the first few hours, you are watching your character running around like an automaton. But you'll probably have fun not knowing their plan to implement the best FFA pvp open system no one heard of before:battelgrounds and arenas.
funniest moments are jumping on people, random pk, getting killed/kill ppl farming resources because are somewhat important, but you do remember wow (to name the antithesist of what you are looking for) had the same amount of world pvp (limited on certain areas) before they introduced battlegrounds resulting in the alienation of the player base.
This may be a sandbox game for chinese audience or f2p gamers or new to the genre.
