I'm hardly the expert on "Best Deal" on this site: I tend to take the attitude that if you can afford it, and your happy with it, then it was a great deal, even if someone else can get nearly the same thing for $10 less. As far as this particular build: Zambezi FX8 is probably not the CPU you would pick if you had to. Zambezi was a very budget-minded CPU, and has been improved upon a good deal with Vishera. That, and the 8-core CPU wasn't that good of a deal by itself, the 4-core Zambezi was the sweet spot (with Vishera being either 4 or 6 cores, depending on the deal of the day). And even then, really you only consider AMD CPU's in budget builds - those trying to come in less than $1,000 - which this computer does (barely) - and more around the $700-$800 range. Now maybe they are just trying to get rid of older CPU's in a budget package, but if I were building a new PC today, I wouldn't consider Zambezi from AMD. That - and the generic 7,200 RPM drive. On a severe budget, yeah, you take what you can get. On a $1,000 budget, you have enough wiggle room to where you could skimp a bit on the GPU to upgrade to an SSD (and wither that is worth it or not is up to you - some people it is, others wouldn't even consider it - personally, I will not even quote a PC without an SSD any more). The computer itself isn't bad, it has a quality power supply, and a newer-generation GPU. But for the same price, if your willing to build it yourself, you could probably get an Intel CPU with the same "other components" for maybe even a bit cheaper, or get something higher quality (Vishera CPU) for a bit cheaper (probably around $750), or with an SSD in the mix.
How about the build I posted?

I meant this build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/sRHV, but now I have to consider what Quizzical said.

The keyboard you've picked is PS/2 and not the modern USB.  Most motherboards still come with a PS/2 port, including both of the ones that you've linked.  But they both only come with one PS/2 port, so if you have some other PS/2 device that you want to plug in, it could be trouble.  It's probably not an issue for you, but you should be aware of it.

The NZXT case that you linked before has a maximum video card clearance of about 9" if you have a hard drive.  More than a few video cards are longer than that.

I'd go with a Core i5-3570K rather than a Core i7-3770 on your budget.  For gaming purposes, the only difference between them that matters is the price tag.  And perhaps that the 3570K is overclockable, though without an aftermarket cooler, overclocking would be a bad idea.

Corsair GS power supplies are all right, but really not that good.  For $60 including shipping, you could justify it, and it's not one of the awful power supplies that would be a danger to your system.  I don't see any really great deals on a power supply at the moment, but if you want to save some money on the case as compared to the HAF 922, you could try this combo deal:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.1162908

You don't really need 16 GB of system memory.  Even 8 GB is basically doubling what you actually need today for futureproofing reasons.  On a large enough budget, sure, you get 16 GB.  But don't feel like you need to.

You're not getting a solid state drive, which is something that's really nice to have if you can fit it in your budget.  I'd certainly regard an SSD as a higher priority than 16 GB of system memory.

According to their website, I am buying froNXIC US, which is free shipping ( Correct me if I am wrong). and I think you are looking at the build I messaged you. Look at this build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/sRHV

Edit: I just read your post more closely, I will look at that deal and change to a SSD.

IMO best price/performance card for sale right now.

Also yes get an SSD, its a night and day kind of upgrade. Once you have one you'll never rely on an HDD(except for storage) again.

It is better than http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-video-card-02gp42663kr ?

Problem 1, the nvidia card is out of stock.

Problem 2, which game bundle do you want?

Now that 660 is decent and has a few games it will beat the 7870 in, mostly blizzard/borderlands 2 and a couple other games. However with latest drivers the difference is dismal.

Also if you're at all into OCing 7870 that i link usually clocks very well, while the 660 haven't had much luck. I don't know how well the evga signature series handles though.

You can't really lose going with red or green.. unless you're pushing beyond 1080p, thats a whole new ballgame.

What do you mean by game bundle. And the card you posted is in stock on newegg.

A Radeon HD 7870 is perhaps a little faster than a GeForce GTX 660 on average, but it's close.  It's well within the margin that fans of either company could make a case for their side's card being better without having to be completely stupid.

One thing that you might not realize off hand is that a GeForce GTX 660 mismatches the memory channels, so even though it has 2 GB of video memory, you'll lose a lot of memory bandwidth if you use more than 1.5 GB.  Thus, it's probably better to think of it as a 1.5 GB card with the extra 0.5 GB attached for reasons of marketing rather than engineering.  That said, unless you're going for very high resolutions, the difference between 1.5 GB and 2 GB doesn't necessarily matter.

I recently built a PC over the black Friday sale to replace one I built back in 06. I bought all parts from Newegg and Micro Center. Note that the the parts and prices would have changed now.

    From Newegg:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130770 (Price hasn't changed)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119233 (Bought it for $5 less)

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231314 (Bought it for $25)

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827135204 (Price hasn't changed)

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822236244 ($80)

    From Micro Center:

    http://www.microcenter.com/product/388577/Core_i5_3570K_34GHz_LGA_1155_Processor (Same Price)

Bundled it with the MB below that dropped the MB's price to $65

    http://www.microcenter.com/product/387554/Z77_Extreme4_LGA_1155_Z77_ATX_Intel_Motherboard

    http://www.microcenter.com/product/361181/High_Current_Gamer_750W_Gamer_Power_Supply_HCG-750 ($74)

    Plus a Windows7 for $100 and 2 200mm fans $20 each.

It all added up to around $800 with tax, s&h. Hope this helps.

From what I see in your build, since you are going with the same processor is a micro center close to you at all?

I'm not saying that you shouldn't buy from NCIX.  I'm just saying, check on how much shipping costs, as if it doesn't say shipping is free, it might be a lot more than you think.  For shipping to the US, NCIX will only infrequently be cheaper than New Egg.  For shipping to Canada, on the other hand, NCIX is typically cheaper than New Egg, as that would mean that New Egg ships across the border and NCIX doesn't.

$50 is too much for 8 GB of system memory.  You had something much cheaper in your first build.

You want two memory modules, not one.  Otherwise, you'll leave a memory channel vacant, which cuts your bandwidth in half.

Do they need a "Heat Spreader" ?

Talking about the card you posted, its not in stock. As for the game bundles, you get certain games with newegg GPUs. 660 comes with AC3 and 7870 FC3/Hitman.

The one you posted does not come with games.

Memory chips always come with an integrated heatspreader.  I'm not sure what would happen if they had the bare silicon die exposed to the open air, but my guess is that the first dust particle to come along would fry the chip.

What you probably mean is the larger heatspreader that covers most of the module, as some memory modules come with.  You definitely need that if you're going to overclock your memory (which you shouldn't, by the way), but otherwise, it's something that you'd rather have than not, but it's not really necessary.

Or does anyone have a better idea?

simple....if you buy a pc online...make sure it had a good power supply and reliable parts and splurge on the video card.

most of the time with retailers they give u a underpowered power supply...why...i have no idea. but dell hp and gateway all do it. im sure its so ur computer breaks and costs u more money because what isnt about money these days.

best idea. build it urself. and wear a condom...i mean anti static.

But is it a good card? For running games like Chivilary: Medieval Warfare, Darkfall, Firefall, War Z, and steam games...like skyrim?

Yes it is a very decent card.

Unless you need everything maxxed all the time it will do just fine. It will run all the games you listed on high settings or greater.

I personally have a 7870, the next card up, and there is not much at all i am not running on ultra.
