Greetings!
I have the Collector's Edition of Lord of the Rings Online, and along with that (if memory serves), I had also purchased the first 2 expansions when they were released (with some pre-order bonuses etcatera).
I really wanted to like the game, as a few of my friends did, but BACK THAN, I never really got into it. THAN I remember hearing that the game would go (so called) F2P and thats basically the last I've heard of it.
BUT RECENTLY; I have been thinking of giving this game another shot! (What with the inclusion of high-level mounted combat proper and so on).
But the thing is I cant even recall how to login to my account anymore 
.......Embarrassing, I know, and I apologise for the question; but how do I access my '' ye oldy account'' again?

Are you sure you are trying the right server?
I believe Turbine is the previous NA (offering client in German, French, etc. though)
I can't say for sure though since I never actively played - it's just that I remember a friend was sulking with me for playing "... on Turbine and not the EU server"
But that was years ago when it went f2p.

But about your question: Im not sure at all!
I dont even have the game downloaded yet (so I cant just try to select a game-server directly).
Im just trying to login to my ''account page'' so that I can re-download the game, review my account status/reactivate my subscription and check out which expansion/s etc im missing (riders of rohan for sure).
But, as you prolly noticed as well, to do most any of those things, I have to be able to login to my ''master account'' whatchamacallit
And, so far, I don't seem to be succeeding, at all:D
Based on "back then", "after it went f2p" and "Europe account" in the question I think you won't be happy, but there's a pretty high chance that your account is gone... :I
After the f2p conversion (more than 2 years ago) Turbine broke up with Codies and moved all our servers over the Atlantic. It also ment an account merge/transfer for us, every Eu player had to create a Turbine account onto which they transferred your Codemasters account. The bad news is that the transfer period is over now. It was open for months after the server move, but those who missed it, well, they missed it.
You can try to contact the account support, it worths a try.

Edit: the f2p was 2 years ago, the server move came about 6 months later, my bad...
