So I just bought one of these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220719 a

Patriot Supersonic Rage XT 32GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive

I Wanna run GW2 on it, and was wondering if anyone tried this before/yet? and if its faster than a typical HD since it can read up to 180MB/s.

I'm running it at 2.0, due to my shitty motherboard. Works fine, the only "slow loading" I've ever experienced was Lions Arch during the Halloween event, Lions Arch logging in at the middle of the Karka Invasion on the wrong side of the battle, and if a cutscene is going on as I enter a dungeon.  At most everything takes 5-10 seconds, but during those slow periods it takes an average of about a minute, or up to 2-3 minutes in the case of LA during the last day of Halloween.

Should be fine as long as its just GW2 in there.  AFAIK 180MB is only in sequential read and not random read

That should give you around  5-7MB random reads..

I prefer to use Sandisk extreme for my thumb drives.  They work well with random read/write.

Yes, just gonna be Gw2 in there. I probably wont see a huge difference, maybe 2-3secs?? It just feels forever when you sit and watch a non-moving loading screen. haha.....

Shouldnt affect loading screens if Arenanet coded their zones in a way that data is contiguous.  Ofc I have no idea whether they did or did not do that.  Should be fine either way.
