Flash Gordon MMO

Do you think a Flash Gordon Universe would make a good MMO. I was just watching the 1980 movie and with all the different races thought it might.

    I doubt many people (kids) know who Flash Gordon is anymore. But sure, it could be an interesting game world if it was properly developed.


    Note: You can rent collections of the old Flash Gordon serials (made late 1930's to early 40's) from places like Netflix. Or I doubt anyone is monitoring bitorrent for downloads of these. If you like kitsch sci-fi, they can be fun.

    Seeing as Flash Gordon pretty much inspired Star Wars. Nope. Because imo Star Wars was an improvement over Flash Gordon.

    Being old enough to remember seeing Flash Gordon in the theaters I can tell you just about anything was an inprovment.

    Only one series that was worst was Gene Autry and the Phantom Empire.  Look it up.

    I just cant see it.  The only thing good about the flash gordon movie was Queen doing the soundtrack.  The acting was just so bad.

    lol yeah that's for sure.

    People don't understand me when I say that, when I saw the first star wars advertisment on television (late 70's) it was like the second coming for me and my brother. Why? Becasue our mother would always watch the Flash Gordon reruns and even as a kind I knew they were horrible.

    Though funny enough, when man was first landing on the moon, my mother was pointing it out to me on the TV and saying how amazing it was and all I could think of was "flash gordon does that all the time".

    Go back to the original comics, with the wonderful deco style. If you look this stuff up it's a large world (Mongo), a number of races and environments. There's high-tech and also magic (which may be another kind of technology), it's got everything a MMO needs. It would make a great setting for a good MMO.
