Just making sure its 1 character per account?  And with crafting are they having 1 specialization per character as well?  or can everyone craft everything?

1 char per account. You can do as many tradeskills as you want(I assume. they havent confirmed but that is how it used to be and since there is 1 toon per account I dont see them limmiting this.)

The 1 thing you are wrong about is specializations. You can have as many as you like you just can only have 1 on at a time. It takes about a minute to switch between them via slow cast change (not including the gear changes you must make.) There is a cooldown too somewhere in the range of 30 mins., last we heard.

The best comparision would be like EVE online. You can specialize in as many ships as you like, but you can only fly 1 at a time and whatever your skills are towards the current ship your flying are the only ones that matter. In theory it is a good system to allow new players who come in down the road to become viable much faster than the old DF because they can go down 1 path and become viable quickly.

it was 1 character per account in Darkfall 1.  While nothing has been said about this for DF2, Darkfall is a kind of game where you really can only have one character per account...so I'd imagine that is the same.

As for the crafting, nothing has been said.  In Darkfall 1 everyone could potentially craft everything.  Considering there has been no new info that I know of on this, I'd imagine it is staying the same.

The only new things we know of about crafting is there will be more skins for items and more specializations.

I knew about the combat specializations, just wasnt curious about the crafting.  For economy sake I think 1 crafting specialization as well would be nice, but I understand with full loot the need to be able to crafting anything at anytime.

Doesnt promote a strong player economy when everyone can make their own stuff. Needing items from other crafter will promote sales and resale. Hate games that allow you to be all the crafter classes, why bother making more than 1 crafter class.

Though i will buy and play this, just think its the wrong route to go.

In a full loot game that'd be really tough. Imagine how difficult it would be to make a full gear set if you could only make 1 thing (armor, melee weapons, staves, bows, etc).

In DF1 very very few people had the ability to craft the best of everything. Easily under 20 people before the big 20x gains patch hit.

We'll see hownit pans out in DF2.

People act as if this was the case in DF1. It really wasnt. Tradeskills are very expensive and time consuming to raise. The reality of it was that most players didnt raise tradeskills and as a former max weaponsmith, there was a decent economy.

Its just not how things happened.

Nobody actually knows for sure yet!

but its fairly safe to assume that its like df1 since we have not been told otherwise. that is; no crafting specialisations or skill caps :(  and 1 char per account.

AV arent intrested in sandbox gameplay and different playstyles. Crafting ended up as second thought and is subpar to real good MMORPG games.

    It is okayish.

You choose a design and depending on the material used the outcome will be different in quality and to some degree in the looks, for example a selentine greatsword of design X will look cheaper than a theryil greatsword of the same design
