Star Wars: The Old Republic: Ancient Hypergate Warzone Profiled

The Star Wars: The Old Republic site has been updated with a new developer blog post penned by Senior Designer Rob Hinkle. In it, Hinkle reveals new information about the warzone called The Ancient Hypergate and what players can expect to find there.

From a gameplay standpoint, Ancient Hypergate plays like a combination of a 2 point objective map, team death match, and a multi-flag game of capture-the-flag. Each of the two energy pylons is synchronized on a power cycle. At the end of this cycle, each pylon discharges energy into the gate of the faction that controls its objective point. Holding one or both of the pylons directly leads to gaining points at the end of each cycle. The amount of energy discharged is based on the amount of enemies defeated during that specific power cycle. The more players defeated, the more energy discharged into a gate! Additionally, the generators in the central structure of the Warzone release suspended energy orbs into the atmosphere. Players are able to collect these orbs and run them directly to an energy pylon. Getting near a friendly controlled pylon with an orb will immediately discharge a small amount of power directly into the gate.

Another Warzone for people to get sick of by Day #2.

The developers just don't get it.

loved warzones, only thing was that I got 1-shot by level 50 players when I was lvl 28 (scaled upwards uhuh) or even better....

    3 ppl run to you:   STUN-get hit-STUN-get hit-STUN STUN STUN STUN-dead.

without even landing a single hit hahaha......

Really?  More capture-the-flag pvp is what people want?

Variety is good. Nothing wrong with adding more warzones especially since the engine can't support larger scale PvP.

If it was already fixed, you think people will go back? Don't think so, not with the engine of theirs.

Guys i must disappoint you. Servers are full and on station you have at least 3 active instance. SWTOR is back and people like that kind of battlegrounds. We saw that new(old) aproach with rvr or world vs world (or whats ever) failed hard because people like open world pvp and classic battlegrounds.

first people were bashing the game for not bringing updates .now that the company has started to give updates more quickly .the people are bashing it for giving out updates too quickly . swtor still retains good population base and hopefully it will continue that way . i am enjoying the game wholeheartedly :) <3

I played a trial of this quite a while ago but wasn't compelled to p2p, decided to try again it now that its f2p and have been having fun with it, there certainly is a lot of content and different things to do.
