It's empty because most people are still trying to do phase 1.. I'm still not done with it because of all the bugs. I think I'm gonna give up on it. It's been a nightmare.

It seems to be fixed now . Finally managed to advance beyond Noll . But it is a bit late for a weekend event . It really needs to be extended by a couple of days .

Didn't ANet extend the phase 1 by 24 hours or something?

So phase1 and phase2 are running concurrently or something.

I just said 'screw this' and went back to Orr / level alts though.

I went to Rift but I will try this content tomorrow . The extention needs to be 48 hours given the amount of time its taken them to fix it . Also I hope before the next event ( christmas most likly ) they make sure they  get it right like the Haloween one .

    I like the haters logic

People that like the game are drinking the ANET Cool-aid and praising its gospel

People that do not like it are the sane and oh-reasonable ones...

It makes me remember the whole atheist vs theist debacle

    ps:

I dont play the game anymore, and it has been a long time by now nor I am a theist

Don't lump me in with the haters I've already said several times this is a good game but the event has been poorly executed .

It is possible to like a game but to dislike aspects of it you know .

Does that make me an agnostic ? lol

I agree, total mess. Logged in yesterday the event was way to laggy to even move so logged out after 1/2hr. Today an npc was broken half way into the 1st event. I scrapped the idea of running in sequence and spent about 15min at the new isle, looked ok just ok.

This 'logic' assumes one can only like everything about a product or hate everything about a product.

Which in a logic sense is the wrong assumption and therefore we can see that it makes the wrong conclusion.

I like my Samsung Galaxy S3. That doesn't mean I don't have issues with it; battery life for one.

I like Planescape Torment, that doesn't mean I don't have issues with the awful game mechanics.

That would be the infamous Noll ( he who should not be talked to) . He went MIA  for a while but hes back now and seems to be all ship shape and Bristol fashion now .

Both of those quests or scavenger hunts or whatever you want to call them are bugged..

The Hylek and Largos are missing on my server, along with Noll..

The Island zone, however, is pretty cool looking, but once you explore it there's not much to do.I think people are scrambling around on it expecting to find something 'event filled',but really its just another zone to explore it seems.Hardly found anyone doing the DE's,most are just exploring or doing the jumping puzzles.

Unless stage 3 opens up something more to the island, Im just seeing it as "just another zone of nothing much"

    Grindfest! lag.. bugged. Disappointed!

time to upgrade your pooter bro. No lag on my end. Also...frapsing during what could be classified as a massive raid. The game is already graphically intense and demanding of our systems, next throw 100+ people in a CITY with its npcs and other nonsense happening - not even in an exploreable area or in WvW, and then you want to add fraps to that?

I'd reseat your GPU and CPU just to make sure that nothing went wrong during all that. I've seen GPU's loose them selves from pci express slots from being overworked or from bad overclocks. Despite populare belief there are electric charges moving through your motherboard. And alot to your GPU.

But really. I had no lag. FPS was between 40-60 the whole time. GW2 plays incredibly well on my system.

    i5 2400k 4.0ghz

    GTX 460 2GB + GTX 460 2GB

512GB SSD - which is what GW2 sits on

16GB RAM - not that it matters.

Don't see 'lag' being the complaint.

GW2 does 'culling' which is done from the server side I believe so it isn't the player's pc that needs upgrading.

    I'm on I7 / GTX670 and I had issues for P2 where I couldn't see karka (or w/e they were).

Also the quests were bugged (and most are still bugged).

Orr was back to normal fairly quickly as most of the players on my server just said 'screw it'.

Sad to see Anet's QA fail so hard though.

I logged on yesterday and got to the point where Noll was supposed to be.  Same thing as you, people waiting for ANET to fix the exploit and respawn him.  I said screw it and played Diablo 3.

It's sad that developers have ruined two promising games in SWTOR and GW2.  Hopefully ANET gets their act together and makes serious fixes like Blizzard has done for D3.  Bioware is hopeless these days so SWTOR is doomed to always suck.

Adding another rarity is hardly comparible with all Wows raid gear tiers. And we have no clue yet how grindy they will be,

Yes we do. The componts to make the rings are already for sale by the Fractal token trader. I did nothing but fractal yesterday in a mix of groups skill level. Its going to take longer than 60hrs to get the ring componet of the Ascended ring unless ANET changes something.

wow never prepared to get flamed by my comment lolz. Should have put on a fire-proof jacket.

All I was saying is if some event chain is broken, move onto doing something else in gw2 which is quiet a lot there. I just don't see the point in discussing a bugged event chain when there are countless of posts on official forums notyfing Anet of the problem and anet responding and letting us know it is aware of the issue. Besides, since it is causing delay for phase 2, one would expect the phase 1 to be extended. Which it did.

Why not make a thread discussing the good and bad points so far in Lost Shores instead of summarizing that it is a mess just because of that broken event which Anet is quickly working on? Why not wait until the Lost Shore events have completed then give your thoughts about it?

You see where I am coming from now?

Looking forward to EQL and EQN.

The point is, mmorpg.com has a GW2 general forum, and if there is a game problem its probably going to show up here as a point of discussion.  The point of posting here would not be for Arenanet to take notice and do something about it.  Thats what an in game bug report is for even BEFORE going to the GW2 forums to make a thread.

The point here is to vent on frustration, or to discuss an issue with other players expecting in full that no devs will ever read it anyways.   Its just a point of discussion.  Nothing more.

Your suggestion of going and doing something else is entirely valid as GW2 has a plethora of things to do.  However the OP is more than valid in his posting of this thread.  GW2 is not perfect and it will have problems.  It is absolutlely inevitable.  When it does have problems some will blow them way out of proportion, some will defend the issue as a non problem, and everything in between.  Best to just expect it and get used to it.

No need to be confused on why the OP is posting this.  He enjoys GW2 (really doesn't matter if he does or not), he's just here to say, " This is broken and its ticking me off. " and this is the forum on mmorpg.com for that among other things regarding GW2.  I see the point in the thread.  I had a friend complaining to me about the issue yesterday.

Hopefully it will get sorted out and when my friend said he was having these problems my suggestion yesterday was, " Maybe they should extend the events through Monday or Tuesday for affected servers."  I've seen that suggestion here in this thread already.  Maybe they'll consider doing that.

Seriously though, the new dungeon is pretty neat.  Unfortunately it looks like Anet is going to use the Mystic Toilet pretty heavily in their PvE content for gear items.  Frankly, fuck them because I think this is the dumbest idea I've seen in an MMO in a long time.  Others may enjoy it, I don't and I have no desire to keep playing a game that uses that type of a system for loots/rewards.  This game is quickly reminding me of SWTOR in its shitty post launch development and the continual missteps that are being taken by their dev team.  Almost makes me wonder if anyone that developed GW1 really still works at Anet.

Think one of the founders left after GW1 or something.

There are a few missteps though.

    1. FOV issue (so only people with eye-infinity gets advantages? lolwut?)

    2. General quality control.

    3. Gear grind (or the perception of it)

    4. Communication issues. (using twitter as your chief source of information is really bad. It should be a source of information but not the 'source of truth'.)

    RNG...makes me wonder.

[tinfoil hat] GW2 wants to make it big in Asia. The Western crowd is too fickle and whiny nowadays. Which makes the road to being the #1 MMORPG hard. ArenaNet Founder Mike O'Brien Will Be Satisfied When Guild Wars 2 Is The Most Successful MMO, Period [/tinfoil hat]
