To register my displeasure at ANET for abandoning its core anti-gear-treadmill philosophy with Ascended gear, I won't be logging back in to GW2 until the 19th. I invite anyone similarly dismayed by this new direction to do the same.
Sure i will boycott with you but i will be very busy on saturday and sunday..well i have..errr..*gulps* important work to take care of. But rest assured i am with you all the way. I got your back and uhh...everything.

See ya - been a slice.
The dungeons will be permanent so there is NOTHING you can do. Stamp your feet all you want.
The majority want end game - they are getting it. At least a start of it.
if your serious about it, you should take a leaf out of the goonswarms book, when they take action, its not to stay away, its to turn up in a highly disruptive fashion, usually in a highly public and interesting way.. in game of course

That was tried in GW1 to the detriment of the game (the healer protests at THK for example).

The point is, is that no matter what people complain about in forums, official ones or otherwise, it can be ignored as a 'vocal minority' thing, which often may well be the case, for it to be really taken seriously, then a massive in game protest of some kind has to take place, but yeah, no guarantees it will have the desired effect.
it's not really a gear treadmill. it's half a step up from the previous second runner. that's all ascended items are. they're the new second most powerful bits of gear.

That could also be called terrorism - not a good play in my book. Just saying....

I prefer if we could organize a mass log in a city, like Divinity's Reach, at a pre set time, and type in chat "No to the gear carrot".
Regardless I've stop gem purchases with real money.

In most western countries, non violent protest is a legit part of democracy.

you think it's a coincidence they have a free trial at the same time as a content patch? they already have your money, they are marketing to new people now. and the content patch ensures the game wont be empty and the newbs see it as thriving.

And to register my displeasure in your overraction, I'm going to boycott your boycott. I will log in each and every day for many hours between now and 19ths. I invite anyone similarly dismayed by this boycott to do the same.

I will help you with this counter-boycott. I am sick of people who can't take responsability for their own actions.

Where shall we meet and sharpen our knives?
Dude my friends list has over 40 people on it that havent logged in since hitting max level.
I know A-net is trying to offer a different experience in GW2 but we need some type of pve progression.
Just be happy it isn't raiding...
Playing: Nothing
Looking forward to: Nothing

We will all make it through this rough time

A boycott sounds like a pretty dumb idea. You be better served sending them a very strongly worded letter.
Why harm yourself (miss the event) when nobody will notice?
I like Goonswarm. They're very.... interesting...

Less lag for those who will be playing and enjoying the new content?
What you try to present as a punishement may actually be a boon, for both the players and for ArenaNET
Respect, walk
Are you talkin' to me? Are you talkin' to me?
