World of Warcraft: World Championships This Weekend

World of Warcraft Arena teams will be going head-to-head this weekend in the World Championships to be held at the Shanghai Expo Mart in Shanghai, China. Over 10,000 fans are expected to see the event (including Starcraft championship matches) live with Blizzard making a six hour broadcast available to fans around the world.

Cohosted by Blizzard Entertainment and its local partner, NetEase, Inc., the Battle.net World Championship is the grand finale to Blizzard’s 2012 StarCraft II World Championship Series, featuring more than 30 national and continental tournaments, and the World of Warcraft Arena Global Finals. Over the course of these competitions, millions of eSports fans around the world watched more than 600 pro players face off for a chance to represent their home region on the world stage.

    There is nothing more energetic and adrenaline-pumping than to watch the "best" WoW PvP'ers hit "TAB" on their keyboard.

    e-sports via MMO is an absolute joke and an embarrassment to the entire genre. Moreover, it has set the worst trend in the MMO: arenas, battlegrounds, warzones, or whatever else you want to call them...

    MMOs need to go back to virtual worlds...not virtual redundancy.

    Obviously you haven't played WoW arena. TABing is not an option and there are countless abilities you have to take into account. Classes are grosly imbalanced but players on highest level play with strongest classes anyway.

    Everyone is saying PvP needs to be revitalized but noone has a solution where everyone has a fair chance. It's easier said then done.

    WoW is at least trying.
