Assuming the conversion takes place within seven months from the launch of Darkfall's sequel (code-named Darkfall 2.0), InternetQ will own c.40% of the Company's share capital. Following such conversion, InternetQ will also have the option to buy additional Company shares in order to control the majority of its share capital.

Tricky question. My understanding is that Darkfall saw a pretty substantial loss of its sub base but from what I"ve read about it, the original team never abandoned it, so I think it is unlikely as they seem pretty invested in the company even if not from an economic perspective.
However an issue would be this: The investment firm clearly sees thisinvestment in the company as a way to launch a mobile platform of some kind and currently they purely work on this one particular piece of software, PC software at that. Given the option to convert to this bond to equity at any time, it seems possible that their intention is actually to buy out the company even if its unwilling. What I mean is this, Darkfall 2.0 doesn't go as well as they had projected or hoped, but the investment firm still wants to utilize the employees for their mobile platform, they choose to exercise the option to convert the bond into equity which could severely restrict their operating funds and then when the company is teetering on the verge of bankruptcy, buy out the remaining shares for a pittance and then reorganize the company purely for the mobile platform and leaving the game as a secondary concern if still one at all.
No.
Based on somewhat dated information, Darkfall entered a partnership with another company to bring a localised version of the new Darkfall game to the asian MMO market. That actually makes a ton of sense, because an asian player community bring different cultural perspectives and expectations to a game, and done right Darkfall Unholy Wars in a localised version would be a smash hit in asia. They never sold Darkfall, rather they have teamed up with another company who knows the asian market well and sees the potential for a localised version of the new game there.
So no, Aventurine is not selling out - either literally, or figuartively. Rather what they are doing is using their improved resources to rebuild the entire Darkfall game from ground up, including:
• Vangelis: Yes, we have a Korean partnership, we can't comment on that yet, but the partnership exists and we co-operate with them on a daily basis. But the result will take some time to come out."
Remember who owns Aventurine isn't really the issue, particuarly as none of us can have any idea what else that company is working on in addition to the Darkfall games.
For gamers, what we have always cared most about is when an independent games company sells thier game to some faceless corporate publisher who wants to simply get as many subs as possible for as long as possible, without any ongoing support or improvements. Such a move has often in the past been associated with "WoW-ify-ing" the independent game in an effort to increase its subscription appeal, robbing it of the very magic that made it worth playing in the first place. That is NOT what is happening here.
You are mistaking MGame for InternetQ.
2 different deals... Maybe read an article in OP?
You are correct, InternetQ now owns 40% of AV and based on the performance of UW has the right to take over the company and direct its resources as it sees fit (their mobile platforms). Leaving UW to wither and die if it chooses.
What a terrible Analogy... InterentQ can do whatever they like once they have control of AV. A McDonalds franchise is heavily regulated and McD reserves the right to revoke a franchise in case the terms of the agreement are violated.
"Be careful of believing things you find on the internet"? The link is from INternetQ homepage: a multi-million dollar, multi-national company listed on the London Stock exchange.
It's obvious you didnt read the provided link or you failed to comprehend the contents therein.
ok LOL let me see these other devs make a engine that handles what darkfall handles i dont see it happening
"There are at least two kinds of games.
One could be called finite, the other infinite.
A finite game is played for the purpose of winning,
an infinite game for the purpose of continuing play."

Wow, a sensible, well-written and intelligent post, not every day you see that on these forums!
Darkfall Unholy Wars:
Zushakon Odi
Based entirely on ignorance as hes confusing Mgame and InternetQ.
Two different companys and two different deals, which has been pointed out numerous times in this thread.
Mgame is the Darkfall 2.0 Asia publisher/co-developer.
InternetQ currently owns 40% of AV with the options to purchase the controlling shares. (see OP)
So if DF:UW fails you guys think the Darkfall devs are going to work on a mobile platform of some sort?
I think some of you don't think.
