Here's the solution to the Free To Play vs. Big Evil Subscription debate:

Players can play for free but they can only play one class: Tank.

And there will be no speccing into Tank/DPS either.  Nor will you be able to equip DPS gear.  All of your gear stats will have bonuses that apply to tanking and tanking only.

Outside of that all of the content is open to you with zero restrictions.

    ... Nobel prize for having 0 to do with anything and be a solution for, I guess a shortage of tanks that I didn't hear about?

    Change tank to healer and you may be onto something. I see no problem with tanks, only ever struggle to find healers.

    Having F2P players as the groups personnal punch bag does appeal. But not sure it would work. :)

    make everyone either a tank, healer or crowd control and you problems begin to diminish.

    make the group size 3 or 4 and all your problems go away.

    I like the idea of balancing classes/roles by giving incentives, but that might be taking it too far.

    What if the game has no tank spec - what then?

    Guessing it's about WoW and RDF.  However, that would be risky to assume, given its location.

    Self-pity imprisons us in the walls of our own self-absorption. The whole world shrinks down to the size of our problem, and the more we dwell on it, the smaller we are and the larger the problem seems to grow.
