Keep in mind that my information is exclusively through reading forum posts and not from in-game sources.

There are 5 weapon skins and 3 shoulderpad skins in the BL chests. Not sure if you can get those in another way.

The weaponskin theme seems to be "chainsaw".

You are not guaranteed to receive a rare item after opening a Black Lion Chest. You have a chance to get a unique/rare item. Some people are luckier than others. The Halloween skins are tradeable, so if you aren’t able to get them in a Black Lion Chest, you can obtain them on the Trading Post.

The responsible way to do lotteries of that form would be to in form of numbers, clearly hand out information about the probabilties to get different items. However, few online lottery companies would ever do that, they are under the expectation that if they keep the probabilities hidden, the company will earn more due to psychological factors. It is a dishonest and shameful practice, in my opinion and Arenanet is far from the only company abusing it.

So can you answer the question about whether the cash shop offers all Halloween armor pieces for 15 gold or not?

Somebody... for fuck sake, tell me if there are unique items to boxes...

You've already had several misconceptions in this thread. You are batting a solid .000 at this time. The witch outfit comes from the gem shop it does not come out of the Black Lion Chests. The Black Lion Chests have different items tnat can only be obtained through opening chests and no other way.

You are really poor at reading comprehension. I was asking a question. A question that was later answered. I understand you are sensitive about your attempt at gambling and not getting what you want, but it's time to blame yourself and not the casino.

See, your problem is that you are a gambler and want to feel like your mass key buying was justified. The reality is that you can get almost all of these things through crafting or the Black Lion's Trading Post. You can also transmute all stuff that is crafted (which you were completely wrong about before).

Your misconception about the reality almost lead me into a situation where I actually thought I had to purchase boxes to obtain stuff. You were way wrong and I would appreciate it if you would own up to it so that other people know that stuff is on the market that lucky people found.

Ummm nope. Not almost. All the weapon skins and two armor skins come out of chests only. Or you can buy it at out rageous prices on TP.

The recepies that you craft have absolutely nothing to do with stuff that comes out of the chest. For someone flamign him for poor comprehension you need to read more carefuly because you ahve been told this several times already.

There is no OR here. Crafting give you soemthing completely different and the best items and skins come from BLC only.

So TLDR version fo your post is

Anet can do no wrong!! players are always wrong.

You can craft weapon skins which makes you wrong to a degree which is embarassing. Here is a link to the reddit post for permanent weapons skins:

Found the post I was looking at, it was on Reddit. Take with a grain of salt until we know that they still work though…

400, Gift of Souls (Item), 250 Orichalcum Ingot, 100 Charged Lodestone, 20 Glob of Ecto, Gift of Knowledge

400, Gift of Spiders (Item), 250 Orichalcum Ingot, 100 Destroyer Lodestone, 20 Glob of Ecto, Gift of Ascalon, Huntsman
    Weaponsmith

400, Gift of Spiders (Item), 250 Orichalcum Ingot, 100 Destroyer Lodestone, 20 Glob of Ecto, Gift of Ascalon, Huntsman
    Weaponsmith

00, Gift of the Moon (Item), 250 Orichalcum Ingot, 100 Corrupted Lodestone, 20 Glob of Ecto, Gift of Thorns, Weaponsmith
    Armorsmith, Leatherworker, Tailor

    Crystalline Dust
Gift of Souls (Recipe), 250 Candy Corn, 100 Nougat Center, 40 Elonian Wine, 10 Crystalline Dust
Gift of the Moon (Recipe), 250 Candy Corn, 100 Chattering Skulls, 40 Elonian Wine, 10 Crystalline Dust

I don’t know what you do with the gifts after making them though. Also don’t know if these recipes are still valid post-alpha/beta. Unfortunately I can’t see myself spending that kind of money on any of those three skins if these recipes are real.

Do you know that these weapons got absoultely nothing do with stuff we are talking about here? the BLC stuff?

Ofcourse there are items to craft, what do you think those candy corns nodes are for that you can harvest?

Personal opinion but those crafted stuff looks like crap compared to BLC stuff.

Because it is Anet. They get free pass on everything. So gambling is ok and get full support of fans. If it was any other MMO, hordes of haters  'wearing GW2 rules' t shirts would be ripping it apart

They sell rather useless junk keys, why would the rest of us care?

It is a fun game and you really dont need this stuff. Or you could farm the keys just like anything else, or buy it for real money.

As I see it they pay the money I would pay for monthly fees for me, thankyou guys.

And they havnt actually lost money, they bought stuff for it. They knew what they were buying. No one feels sorry for me when I buy Guiness for my money. No one forced either of us.

And it is not like they actually got better characters for this, but they already knew that one they bought their keys.

So what is your problem? People dont whine when someone buy a new flying mounts in Wow or whatever.

You had to gamble and go through RNG to buy stuff in Rift, Tera or TSW? what is this silly comparison? you guys are not even on same wave lenght of what he is trying to say.

I doubt anyone here is complaining about cash shop but the support for gambling and how it is ok to implement it in MMOS.

    Well because it is ANET!!

Here is the "Every game has this issue argument again." No they don't.

because the see the item, see the price, then buy it. These are not items in the cash shop. This is buying a lotto ticket and hoping to win.

People on the official forums have said, "Just let me buy it. Forget this lotto stuff."

but in all those other games such as TSW or Rift can i aquire those CS items with ingame currency? or am I forced ot pay real money for them?

i can see people just wanting to buy the items though.. maybe they should offer them for a higher price OR get a chance to get them in chests

It is just skins you know, and you can actually farm keys, you have 2 months. I have gotten 30 keys in 2 months without bothering to farm them, and it seems I been a bit unlucky even.

Or farm gold instead and buy the keys, each key will cost you about 75 silver so you can easily get 2 keys a day without any specific farming tricks not including drops. Then you get a key in every second chest or so as well.

Besides, this is useless crap. Skins matter little or not at all (my HoM sword skin give my swords fire damage which matters a little, it is the only skin I have with some use).

But sure, if you must have them, enjoy your ramen. :)

Where are you farming keys? I have played since opening day and I have 2 level 80 characters. I have a total of 11 keys and nearly 60 chests.

And why do you think Anet amde these BLC skins avilable only through chests and TP and not through events or other activities?

Because not everyone is sitting on pile of gold to spend it on TP. People are msot probably goign to spend cash again to buy gems and convert it into gold to buy those items.

    In both situations Anet wins.

There is no realiable location to farm them. They drop at the rate of epic world drops in WoW (hardly ever). Beyond that zone completion will sometimes net you one.

I don't know; the state Lottery certainly publishes the odds.

Millions of people, every week, still expect lightning to strike them.

Is there really any 'responsible' way to run a lottery?

Self-pity imprisons us in the walls of our own self-absorption. The whole world shrinks down to the size of our problem, and the more we dwell on it, the smaller we are and the larger the problem seems to grow.

It is a dishonest and shameful practice, in my opinion, and Arenanet is far from the only company abusing it.

I don't know; the state Lottery certainly publishes the odds.

Millions of people, every week, still expect lightning to strike them.

Is there really any 'responsible' way to run a lottery?

Odds to win on scratch off lotto tickekts are like 1 in 8 or even 1 in 5. Plus it is printed so you can see. Idk if there is a responsible ways, but there are certainly better and worse ways.

I'm not overly bothered eitherway, but there is clearly something "off" with having a % chance drop/lottery style component combined with something tied to a cash shop if the game is not gambling age restricted.

Indeed, they don't NEED to keep you happy anymore, they already got your 60$ months ago, now all they need to do is lure people to spend cash on the gems, those that do are fools and makes ANET happy, those that aren't, they don't give fret about.

It's win-win for ANET in any way, shape and form.
