I have just fought the final boss of the first area, and I have good news.

Even though it is not noticeable for fights with small enemies, boss battles play like a mix of Monster Hunter and Guild Wars 2.

Let me explain.  The final boss of the first area is the Crawler, a giant four legged insect thing.  You can hit it anywhere on its body, but it is recommended to his its hands/feet/whatever.  Why?  Because useful tactic is hitting the monster on its hands/feet/whatever until the armor comes off.  Once the armor is removed, they become more vulnerable to attack and, more importantly, you can pick up the armor and use it like a shield, gaining new attacks while you wear it.

So let me sum this up for you.  In the battle with the final boss of the first area, the boss fight meant to give you a taste of whats to come not only in what the enemy can do but what you can do, you fight a creature with a body part breaking system similar to Monster Hunter that lets you pick up the body parts and use them with a system similar to the bundle system in Guild Wars 2.

Remind me again how this plays like a cheap F2P Asian action game?

Since when is Tuesday a direction?

Just log back into the game, make a list of what you think needs to be changed, and post it on the appropriate section of the forums.

No need as the only way to make the game any good would be to scrap it and start over with GW2 as a model.

Sorry, linear questing and gear threadmills are not for me.  To top it off I am not a fan of the Tera/Raiderz combat system.  IMO if you go the action combat style then do the hybrid tab target of a GW2 or an Asherons Call.  Not having access to my mouse cursor is to much of a shock (and yes I know you can hit shift to bring the cursor up).

If your not a fan of this combat system then: 1) Why are you playing in this beta? 2) Why did you even sign up? 3) Why are you starting a post in the forum of this game. 4) Why are you telling us about a game you never had an open mind to in the first place. Go back to MMOs that are your type and leave the criticism to people that actually care about the game and the further development of it.

I found no bugs... I enjoy reading posts that make baseless claims and don't even bother to mention specifics or ANY details at all.

This reminds me of Harry Reid making baseless claims... hmmmm we all see what happened to him...

Perhaps before you start spreading rumors and sewing seeds of information, you should have some details and some empirical evidence?

So tell me OP, WHAT bugs?

I noticed GW2 had A LOT of bugs, for instance you can shoot right through walls at people in the BG's so you have a distinct advantage as ranged.   I noticed that a few of the quests in GW2 in the Asura area wouldn't complete the first time I did them, had to drop em and re accept and re complete them.

    So, whats Raiderz's Bugs?

Lack of character customization?  yep, it sure has that...  Lets look at your love GW2, Hmm only 10 hairstyles for Asura?  Disappointing :-(

Please stop being so blinded by your absolute adoration and undying love for GW2.  Thank you.

Not blinded but very much humbled at the sheer volum of content, work ethic and dedication to a vision "I" hold as the best course for an MMO to make.

Sorry your so mad that I had an opinion but I am entitled to it and your belly aching isnt going to change the fact that I think Raiderz is a terrible game with little to no sense of innovation.  From the ugly animations, awful art style, and boring classes to the engrish phraseology and the sheer F2P quality of the world.  At least Tera had the decency to be a AAA MMO, Raiderz is nothing more then a cheapened version of it and is a bad game because of it.

I think its funny that the internet no longer values facts or information, we just say "lol u mad bro?"

Thats what I'm hearing from you.

You never list of anything you dont' like, this is essentially trolling sir, you just say you hate something and then don't back it up with any opinions or data at all, yep, thats pretty much trolling.

Lets be adults, and lets stop using internet logic,  "LOL U MAD BRO" has no place in a civilized discussion, Also, throwing negative adjectives without any actual facts or data is still just muck racking or mud slinging, and its still trolling.

Please learn how to debate, thanks.

The discussion was never civilized to begin with lol.

It was just some kid telling us about how much he didn't like a game that never enjoyed that style of game in the first place.  He played the game JUST so he could have something to complain about lol.

I think the combat in RaiderZ is ok. Everything else... meh.

Graphics style is of course a matter of taste, but this typical Asian style with outrageous hairstyles, pretty boy faces and porn-star class females is not my cup of tea.

Quests are pretty standard, boring MMO quests.

It entertained me for a couple of hours, because I liked the combat. Back to waiting for GW2 (and maybe PS2 beta) then, I guess.

  • wordizwordiz Eugene, ORMember Posts: 464

I had fun. Most people are probably waiting till open beta so they can keep their progress. Then it'll be fair to really see what the future looks like. I enjoy the combat system. Dueling is extremely fun. Looking forward to see what the raiding is like in later zones.

    *edit*

After playing open beta for a few days, yeah, it sucks. The combat system is nice, but the rest of the game is lacking. Honestly, one of the worst MMO's I've played in a while.

I enjoyed it so far. Not every game suits everyone's fancy, and I wouldn't call this a game I would play "full time", but it's definitely a nice change from other f2p mmos.  Even if it's not as good combat as GW2, etc.... it's still a step in a better game direction in my opinion. :)

This game is similar to TERA as the masses have mentioned. However, I am sad to say after having paid and played TERA for 2 months, RaiderZ is better than TERA.

The combat is strategic rather than solely reactionary and mistakes are a bit more punishing in battle.

    Large variety in character customization.

A crafting system which encourages character progression; a simple yet stuck in your mind "thing".

Graphics are of the same era, but on completely different engines.

    Free to play.

Some of the boss fights are just plain brutal aesthetically and hard in difficulty; your character will be pummeled, slammed, eaten and gored all quite literally. Sounds like a dark twist, but nothing compared to 2Moons or Requiem.

I played GW2 early access until RaiderZ's OBT began, I needed a break and RaiderZ was something different. Also might I add, MAIET the developer of GunZ made this game! That alone earns a portion of my time, MAIET has brought both joy and tears to my childhood.

I like this game but dont play it cause ive started over every test phase, i will play it when its fully released possibly, my only gripe is the character customization....in this day and age having only 1 playable race with limited customization? thats clearly a no no.
  • LaromussLaromuss vancouver, BCMember Posts: 326 Uncommon

got to play it through some of the Betas.

    Pros:

    1. the action oriented combat is great, all classes can block, and dodge
    2. You're not stuck to one class, the skill tree allows you to put points into the other classes tree thus allowing you to create customizable classes such as warrior mage, sorc cleric etc.
    3. Boss fights were very fun and did not require the trinity to complete, this also included instanced boss fights as well.   A lot of the encounters required good positioning, dodging and well placed blocks.
    4. Crafting is the main part of the game as the best equipment is obtained from crafting.

    Cons:
    1. Balance issues
    2. Areas are zoned/instanced
    3. Linear quests
    4. Pvp zones are crossed with Pve quests which cause too much ganking.
    5. Level differences do effect battle outcomes

Overall a good game but with some issues but as always the game is still in beta and player feedback will definitely make it more fun.  Probably some other stuff i forgot to mention but these are the ones that come to mind at the moment.

I'm playing cus I started a guild. and hoping it gets better. I played Tera and C9. YIf you played Tera you'll see that RaiderZ is a down graded version the openning area remindsso much of tera opening area. Tree Golems,Boats and pirates you know fromt he trail thing had. And the combat is like a slow version of c9 combat. [mod edit]

I logged 3 days on this game a total of almost 40 hrs and have to say that I like the combat but dont care for the quests to used to GW2 sorry but true. The monsters are great in this I got to lvl 28 Beserker with a splash of Cleric for heals and buffs used two handed mace mostly. The game play was good and found the story good as well kinda makes you go whats going to happen next kind of thing. There are bugs like the zoning bug where the game locks up on load screens and you have to relog but it does not happen all the time just at times other then that I had fun with it. The crafting is a new step that you have to earn certain items from mobs both normal and elite type mobs to get better gear. At lvl 25 I got a set of armor with bonuses and a two handed sword and mace to follow which took some time to get. I will continue my testing of it after launch if PS2 is not out by then. Over all the game isnt bad if you dont mind the quest system as for Pay-2-Win it has it to a point with the +plusing crystals but had no problem getting my gear to +5 using in-game enhancement anything higher and you almost have to buy.

To me I enjoy gaming I dont play to be uber I play to have fun. If a game is not fun to me guess what I move on and play something else till I find one that is. When I find that great game and not sure if in my life time there will be one I hope it has everything I want in an mmo.

Respectful of your opinion, and mind you I post my share of negativity on these forums, but in my honest opinion; it's not THAT bad of a game..

I feel that TERA was unexcusable because I had to pay 60 bucks and then subscribe to play it, however with this game which just about offers everything TERA did, I had to invest little more than time and hard drive space..

It has it's issues, mainly with command response lag, but once compensated for like lag in an FPS you get the hang of it..

Best of luck to you on your next MMO, OP..

IF you guys are flying to it's a beta excuse then you never played gunz international. The whole butterfly k-style thing was a glitch abused by players from korea, who then had free roam to lag glitch in the US dedicated servers with there 300+ ms. Eventually after making the hitbox for the Slash climbing glitch smaller they finally just gave up and sold it to other companies. These bugs are still not only a huge part of the game, but if you do not use them in your game play you have constant crying calling people names for using the machine gun type weapons. Abusing glitches and using only shotguns/swords will have constant cryers at your door.

These people made the same game expect them to fix very few bugs and for everyone to be using a certain weapon type, anyone using a different one at the end will be flammed constantly. Expect no real decent pvp exp. since you will be flooded with laggers and go the dragon nest route. They have done it before they will do it again. Your best bet I know I shouldn't say this is to wait for something else, This is not the monster hunter ripoff that gives you a good mmorpg experience your looking for.

ugh, I have to say I disagree with you in everything you've stated. Then again i think this issue here is one of subjective taste rather than an objective view.

I mean, I think GW2 is a fine game and there is obviously a lot of love in it but I keep logging into Tera and rarely log into GW2. The whole mouse thing, I found, was easy to get used to so my initial sense is that it is an unwillingness to get used to it that was the problem.

Still, to be fair, yoru opinion is as valid as the next man's so more power to you I suppose. All I know is that now i'm curious to try this game.

I've redownloaded the game to see if anything has changed since CBT.

Its an even bigger piece of shit.

Now I have frequent login problems to both the game, the website and gameforge.

Half the time my password or username don't work, the other half the game is just suffering horrible performance lags and crashes (EU)

My innitial (p)review of the game was on the "meh" side, now its completely on the "horrible piece of garbage" side.

Had no problems with crashing/lag, and now you can double tap to dodge (from what I saw you could only do Shift+ dodging) Game is ok. Not the greatest of course, but it's ok for what it is. Hope they expand it a bit more though.

I played it and I don't think it's a terrible game, it's just not an improvement over the games I currently play.  I suppose it someone liked TERA but didn't like the sub fee, it might be a good choice.

If in 1982 we played with the current mentality, we would have burned down all the pac man games since the red ghost was clearly OP. Instead we just got better at the game.

Seems like an OK game to me, for a free game anyway its worth having installed on my computer to play now and again.

The combat is more engaging than GW2, the graphics arent the best but it will run on any computer. I like the fact that you have to loot things to craft armour and the armour doesnt just magically drop from a boss.

Double tapping a direction seems to work fine for dodging, my dodge and blocking both work.

No one in game spoke english though I and I was on the english server so it felt a bit like a single player game apart from one person duelling me.

I've played RaiderZ since the first alpha (they keep sending me free codes!).  I just cant get into, TERA definitely does it better.   I'd play TERA if it were free to play but its not worth a sub.

I just wish these MMO developers would stop with the single path linear questing models.  Cant you have quests and exploration thats meaningful?  I mean, its like the developers are just lazy and want to do the bare minimum to hook people (not realizing or understanding they will just drop the game weeks/months later when they lift the kimono).

his game is the definition of shit, haha.

It takes a great combat system concept and ruins it with shitty content. The game looks terrible, is not optimized, and is managed by one of the worst F2P publishers out there today.

Not to mention their fake 50% sale? GG at paying $60 for a mount, it was never that much. From day 1 they said it was on 50% sale but it’s a really sad attempt at scamming people into paying for junk.

I give the game a rating of “Meh” No immersion at all watsoever its a game where you kill mobs for the sake of killing mobs. The story if u even bother to read the text & listen is more painfull not to ignore. MAIET pretty much pawned this off to PWE and they deserve it for being such pay to win/pay for fun assholes

played alpha, got to the end of Mt eda in the closed beta and only to about 20 in the open beta before i had enuf. Guess it takes longer for some people to realize how bad the game is
