November Content Update

Dark_Titan15Dark_Titan15 Member UncommonPosts: 21

Colin Johanson recently revealed that there will be a massive content update in November!

"In the short-term we’re currently focused on adding a massive wealth of additional content and features for players to do in the game using the players core skill-bar, which you’ll start seeing in the Shadow of the Mad King update in October as well as our massive November release."

I'm officially excited!

Sons of Gondor! Of Rohan! My Brothers! I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me! A day may come when the courage of men fails and we forsake all bonds of fellowship! But it is not this day! An hour of wolfs and shattered shields when the age of men comes crashing down! But it is not this day! By all that you hold dear on this good earth, I bid you STAND MEN OF THE WEST! - King Elessar (Aragorn) at the Battle of the Black Gate.

very nice!:) very interested in what they have planned for the skill bar

I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall. If I buy a candy bar at a store, oftentimes, I will drop it... so that it achieves its maximum flavor potential. --Mitch Hedberg

I love the skill system in Guildwars2, the only problem I feel is a lack of progressions with the weapon skills (other than player skill, of course). Now, I don't know what they have planned for skills, but I am excited, very excited. I have started to lose interest in GW2, but Anet has managed to recapture my attention with the promise of better loot, more content and improvements to skills. Let's hope all of these promises will come to fruition  sooner rather than later :)

Yea I kinda wish they would add a system similar to the utility bar for the weapon skills so I can select which weapon skills I want after I've unlocked them.  This would add alot more variety and a lot more unique builds.

While I get that being able to customize your specific skills for each weapon, I don't see Anet doing this as the main point of having each weapon having set skills was for balance - Being able to pick your skills would make it balance hell, imo of course. But you never know.

Branching off of that though, having multiple skill sets for one weapon - as in, an axe would have it's regular 3 skills it has now, but if you switched weapons skills, the 3 skills would become a different set of 3 skills (perhaps one skill set would be more offensive, and the other would be focussed on control).

Even something like a seperate trait system (Weapon Traits) that allowed you to customize some of your weapon skills.

Just a couple of ideas. Hyping myself up a bit, but a man can dream can't he ;)

You guys are reading to much into the skill bar. Colin didnt sasy they were changing any skill sets, he said they plan to do more with the left skill bar. The fact he mentions the mad king event shows that they are thinking more along the lines of environmental weapons.

Im more excited about the new content

the thread was about the brawl bar.. that place should give u another skills on skill bar for brawling..i think the director meant that they wanna focus on the main skill bar (our normal weapon skills..bug fixing/fine tuning) and then start focusing on the extras..at least thats what i got from his statement.. maybe i am wrong... i would love myself some changes (i think) :)

    Hmmmm...

Been a few hours now. Where are all the regular " it's B2P which means no new content because only sub games get new content regularly" , etc trolls?

Glad to hear theyre looking into adding some new stuff, especially in reference to endgame and PvP. Was planning on getting back into the game a bit again for the halloween events. Hopefully theyll get these November updates in before DFUW launches so Ill have more time to check out the new stuff before I get wrapped up in that.

Considering what i've learned to be ArenaNets definition of massive since i bought the game, november will probably bring one dungeon, and a few new DE's.  If we're lucky we'll get another zone with quests and such, but that will last a week at most for the casual player. So, yeah. not impressed.

I åöayed both GW1 and EQ2 for 5+ years. Cant say that EQ2 added more free stuff during that time. But GW2 do need an expansion or 2 to really do it, just like any MMO no matter the model. Particularly do it need to add Guild Vs guild and some more high level PvE zones.

they've said in the past GvG isn't going to happen in GW2 because they want guilds to focus more on WvW and plan on adding more guild features to WvW..

I read somewhere they were working on a dual-trait system, or something similar to saved builds in GW1.  I'm not entirely sure though, but they were working on something to that effect.

If that's all you're getting in this month's content update, Hrimnir, you should submit a support ticket asking for your monthly sub back. This is an outrage and you shouldn't let them off the hook. Let them know that the you are not impressed with the free content they are giving this month along with holiday events and other content. Make them accountable, man. After all, that's your sub fee they're screwing around with!

You know the best part, you thought you made some kind of witty repartie to my comment, but all you did is highlight exactly why the game isn't worth playing. With no monthly sub they have no impetus to deliver quality content updates.  They can easily just string the playerbase along with BS tiny updates and keep spinning it to milk players out of microtransaction money with out actually delivering the goods... touché

you are make false conclusions on something you and no one else has any clue about.. how about waiting till the halloween and november content patch releases then come whine about how you feel it's not enough for a B2P game

What does he means "using core skill bar" ?

It can be either all kind of pickup hold items with skills - which is lame and doesnt add much to the game ( at least until now )

Or return of GW1 skills which you hunt in the world and than equip as your skill load out - which would be awesome (but i doubt they will be brave enough to admit their misytake in ommiting this in the first place )

I hope it's a new lvl 80 area. That would indeed be a pretty big update, but Orr is something many players don't enjoy much, including me. It would also be nice if they fixed DE scaling, so that mobs wouldn't die in one second during Orrian events.

That would be more than what most sub MMOs get.

Having not progressed particularly far in GW2 (highest character lvl is only 26) I'm hoping that the new updates, starting with next week's events, will renew my enthusiasm for the game.

I wouldn't mind allowing to flip a second set of utility just like flipping weapons, I change utility skills alot.

A content update in October, and another massive one in November - indeed, that can't be, that goes against all predictions of this forum's "specialists"!

i would also like to see a nice fix on the minion class...maybe give them  also a pet ui.. every necro class on every game at this point have pet ui.. even temporary pets on classes like mage in wow get a  simple generic pet ui and a innovative new gen game as guild wars 2 cannot give that..? and instead gives the more unresponcive bugged minions of any game i have ever played...
