Star Citizen - New Space Sim both SP&MMO from Wing Commander/Freelancer creator

If you ever dreamed of a space sim that would let you explore the galaxy, alone or with friends. Let you become what you want. Do what you want. much like the old Elite, Freelancer and Privateer games.  Leting you walk inside stations and ships like  Star Trek. And then get in your ship and explore the universe. With a real economy, factions and so on.A game that would be an MMO but also offer the option for  community run private servers where people could run their own mods and content.

On top of offering a single player campaign much like the old Freespace 2 and Wing Commander games. that you could play alone  and offline or with friends in co-op.

Does this seam to good for you? Are you afraid that this would be too much to ask?

Well. The creator of some of the best space sims ever made is coming back and not only pruposes like this but has a proof of concept for anyone to see.

He is looking for community help to fund this project. And people have already pledged closed to 1 Million dollars for this project.

Have you guys heard of this project?

I've found it recently and it really looks like a dream come true to me.
