But yeah, it's probably the best themepark since DAoC/EverQuest (WoW was an awful game). But I'm not sure if its PvE is better than Vanguard's yet. And its PvP does NOT beat DAoC or Darkfall yet.

ANET has the worst customer service ive experienced in years , the game is bugged and we are working on over 5 weeks now and no design plans for moving forward. Even TSW had more communication with their community then this game does. You have glitch hacks in WvW were idiots glitch particle effects so they turn invisible so they wont die in pvp because they are losers. You have trebs that hit enemy keeps from safely inside of portal keeps. I can keep going and going why world vs world is just a horrible retake on realm vs realm.

They can adjust a game all day, but they can't help the issue between the keyboard and the chair.

What's strange, perhaps, is that I really enjoy GW 2 and was huge into DAOC for years.  I spend all my time in WvW and it's a blast.  Who knows what the future brings?  For right now, I'm in a good spot :D

In my opinion, the actual gameplay mechanics in pvp are far better than in DAOC.  The only element missing is Darkness Falls.

Noone isn't a word; It's "no one". On a side note, you can guess where the word "none" came from.

Yes, farmers, bots and hackers think the same.

those are present in all popular games anyway...

Got to say i´ve never seen a single bot in my EU server.... just some gold spaming like everywhere else...

not that many let me say...

Swing by Fort Aspenwood and go to the cursed shore - there are anywhere from 10-25 bots at any given time at different DE's. There are 2 specific DE they like to camp the most. There are a handful of bots that have been at the same loc going on 2 weeks or more, and i have reprted them daily and they are still chuggin along. Doing these DE is a fight just to get hits on the mobs before the bots rape em. This is just the one zone im in most of the time,so if they are in that zone im sure there are many more spread around the world.

I'm not an arenanet fanboi. I don't like gw1 AT ALL. I wasn't in gw2 beta, I picked them game up a week after launch thinking "hey I won't have to pay a sub, i will give it a shot".

I was expecting a YAWC* but with slightly better pvp. Then I played it and got blown away as it basicly takes its riffs from daoc & coh instead of bloody wow like every single AAA mmo of the past 8 years. I'm releived not to be playing the same bloody game we've all being playing in some form or other the past 8 years (well unless you were playing eve)

Well, I'm enjoying it.  I end up getting Bartle-typed as an explorer, and don't give 2 hoots about gear progression beyond any basic level required to overcome challenges, so no suprise there.

I've found that I enjoy situations more when I get more into the events in a zone and seeing how the events lead on to each other, as well as some of the interconnecting dialogue, which is often funny or charming...well, to me at least!

It also beats sliced bread for me by miles...but that could be because I'm not massively keen on bread.

Well, I'm done with pretty much everything the game has to offer PvE wise (bar some jumping puzzles). The game is tolerable (generic fantasy story, generic classes, less choice than the original) and it's saving grace is that there is no subscription once the month is over and people run out of stuff to do.

Only thing that keeps me remotely interested (apart from a good guild) is the WvW. Well designed maps, decent class balance but issues with the server matchup that kill the entertainment factor, fast.

Stil, it's the honeymoon period for many people who wished this game was the second coming (after falling for Anet's hyping machine), so you're bound to see some unreasonable defending.

No please not more vanilla wow nostalgia, I was there at launch and many years after it was fun but not al that great. Mostly it was a bunch of 60's ganking the little guys and npcs. I swear all you have to is plant a seed in the gaming world and it runs rampant.  Vanilla wow was cool for it's time cause it was brand new and the "in thing" looking back now by todays standards it's a damn inconvenient grindfest. GW2 is just plain fun without the crap.

well said. the game is a joke for the hype lvl it has. its a mid-range game and for me and most of my friends / guldies is already an alt mmo. good because it has no sub but not so good to have it as a main one.

If you love progressive dungeons and raids you wont enjoy GW2 long term.

This is the issue many on these forums are having. They bitch about WoW being old and stale, then when GW2 offers something different they cry because its not enough like WoWs progressive PVE endgame...

I personally hated endgame in WoW, I hated the heroic farm, i hated the raid farm, I hated the faction grind and i hated that i was stuck in a city queueing and two high level zones at max level.

GW2 gives me an entire world thats always relevant. Gives me skill based spvp, massive scale wvw, dungeons that are fun and have nothing to do with the trinity, Crafting thats worthwhile and no monthly fee...

Hardcore endgame pve players overlook all of that because they want nothing but highly competitive Pve epeen contests.

Shame though that player's actions in WoW don't have any consequences on the game 'world'.

guards respawn, players get bored and a few hours later nothing reminds the people there that there was a 'epic' battle.

Best thing since WoW? Best thing since EQ if you ask me. They brought back some sense of exploration and game is not even forcing you to level up to start to enjoy. I got 423 hours at my /age and i barely visited Orr, finished crafting to the end and completed all the Dungeons' story modes, let alone explorables (yet i done some of them dozen of times). Done WvW a lot though.

And despite what many says about it, im not the kind of person that have "honeymoon" period when it comes to gaming. I either dont like the game from the begining or i lose interest during first week or two when i notice that im starting to sleep due to boredom.

Main MMO at the moment: Guild Wars 2

"Still? "  There was a month and I haven't heard of any potentially good relases since GW2....

    Anyway.

I don't agree.   In WoW vanilla players actively seeked help and advise from each other  (not just spam rez),  achieving things was providing long-term satisfaction because it was effect of long effort and was providing meaninfull reward- (like first mount at 40 level),  since gameplay was not yet focused so much on instance gameplay, levelling was not very fast and there was no cross-server stuff + world was seamless apart of few instances - then there was universal immersion of being in one world.

Because faction change was impossible and there were far more limits to classes & long travel - race & faction attachment & pride was significant.   Game was not overfilled with various points, karma, ranks, tokens, etc

+ on PvP servers fight was taking place in actual game world and actual cites / capitols.

While WoW Vanilla in order to not go to instanced gameplay would have to take diffrent design and developement path and propably would not achieve numbers it had in BC-WotlK-Cata and have now and since foucs on  end-game instances was less risk - those long months with Vanilla WoW were VERY DIFFRENT from what GW2 offers.

Very difrent design, very differnt feel imho.

I don't agree it is best things since Vanilla WoW, but on the other hand there was only very few titles matching GW2 satisfaction because post-WoW mmorpg market is trainwreck.

Come on. That is too much. Don´t ever compare this rated-T repetitive Theme Park ride with EvE again. I feel like this was a personal insult.

Compare GW2 to Pandas as long as you want. Compare it to Rift or Tera or whatever else is set in medieval fantasy world X with endless amounts of fetch quests.

Besides EvE there is only Secret World for a mature audience and breaking the cookie cutter fantasy mold. NOT GW2

     Heheh

Eve is probably in a different class, other than being an MMORPG, it shares very little with EQ, WoW, and GW2.  Personally, I did not like Eve...moved too slow, too much repetition.  But I know a lot of people love it, and that's cool.  I'm actually glad it exists because it injects some variety into a genre that is otherwise pretty narrow.

Are you team Azeroth, team Tyria, or team Jacob?

Agree with EVE, don't agree with TSW.

TSW was for me too silly and not mature and not good story enough to consiuder it mature, but that's a problem since huge majority of movies and books with are not that good either so making it good in video games is extremly hard and there were very few games in history that I would call 'good game for mature audience and with mature story and setting'.  Really very few.

+ while abilty wheel is nice everything else reeks of cookie cutter linear themepark with focus on months - years of instance running.

Hmmmm how do I put this in an analogy; EVE is like Zork, WoW/Rift/etc is like pacman. Anyone can play pacman but Zork... took lots of patience to play, as does EVE.

Its better then expected in some ways.

Because the game has something for every of my gaming moods.

And i am not alone with this, beleive me, over half my guild fully agrees, while only very few had a hard time understanding that the game is different and requires a different approach to have fun...

WvWvW queues prove that the game is still as popular as ever, and the population in PvE has spread over  level 1 to 80, so almost no more overflow servers (tough i had one in Queensdale yesterday afternoon.

The game is doing great and many people are having lots of fun.. Now its up to Anet to hurry the repairs, do the ballancing, and add more content.

I am still wayting on the mobile device access and most of the promissed minigames.  I hope to see the first new added content inside the 3 months after release mark.

The game is still a blast to play, every day,  for Explorers like me... Its the ultimate exploration game, Killers and socialisers will be happy too. And i predicted long time ago that acheivers will not like the game to much, and not for a very long periode of time.  But then whome ever listens to my ramblings.

So if over half  your guild is still enjoying the game, then little under half of your guilf is not?

Also if your onky other experience seems to be WoW how can you say its the best thing since vanilla wow, I'm guessing your

    experience is limited.

This being about the 100th thread proclaiming the games still fun, kinda makes you wonder why are you trying to

convince everyone of this, or is just you trying to convince yourself. Hell i know if I had a truelly fun game I'd be playing it over running to a game site to proclaim its still fun.
