Clans

Could someone point me in a direction of where I could go look for DUW PvP orientated clans?

I know the official forums has an own section, but somehow I feel it's a little limited towards what I seek. I would like to consider myself somewhat hardcore, it's always been the focus in previous MMOs, but I have my daily work hours as the average guy. It would be ideal to find such a Clan that wants to be somewhat competitive or to have ceratin goals they seek to achieve through a team orientated mindset. I dont neccesairly seek one that has major experience in the original DF, we just need same goals.

Anyone know of certain specific clans? Yes we have google, but Im also trying this channel.

All clans in DF are PvP clans, whether they want to be or not.

Regarding specifics, if you're a NA player there was a thread on the official forums you may find helpful: http://forums.darkfallonline.com/showthread.php?t=327310

The above is my personal opinion. Anyone displaying a view contrary to my opinion is obviously WRONG and should STHU. (neener neener)

That is true, but they all have their way of defining their take and goals with PvP. Im EU. Thanks though :)

Just check out the original Darkfall forums, there is an NA and an EU recruiting section for guilds.  Choose an active guild from there to play with.

DO NOT join a guild led by someone inexperienced in the ways of Darkfall, or a clan planning on switching from some other game to Darkfall, you will only be in for a world of hurt, and your playing experience (i.e. fun) will suffer greatly.

Honestly seems like UW is a year+ away from launch, thats just the impression I get from reading/watching videos on it - don't think there's a rush to find a guild anytime soon.

The release date is November 20th, 2012

To be fair, AV is a small company, they probl have their own ways of doing things and technically we cant demand gameplay vids even though it's just 2 months left. Reason why Im LF a clan at this point is just to get it done before the day arrives, Im really curious to see how launch day works out with tons of vigilanties running around.. better be safe than sorry^^

Any1 know where they have the NA server located for DF:UW? Is it on the wc or ec? If it´s ec then I will prolly play on it so I can play with my friends from the US. And if there were any EU that played on NA servers. How "bad" was it for you? Since the game is so ping-sensitive when it comes to PVP.

Edit. Maybe wrong thread to ask this...

Pick a Darkfall clan, not a new clan.

A Darkfall clan will have the mindset already of how to play Darkfall, it aint like many other games.

Not true, theres major differences to a clans playstyle.

Are you very aggresive? do you want to own as much land a possible do you want to have a while island for just ur clan?

Are you passive?  stick to 1 or even none clan holdings and wander arround together?

    roleplay clans

noobie killing clans, whatever  many things are possible and have existed.

Wanna be the clan playing with fun hulks? just because there are fun hulks? you can only have fun with fun hulks afterall.

From darkfall i remember there used to be a clan without any holdings and didnt want to have any holdings but they were stong enough to invade most clan holdings and used it as if it was theirs for aslong as they felt like it.

It should be still be on the East Coast. When the game first came out there was only an EU server, and I played there from the East Coast with about 110 ping.

Sounds like it´s doable then. Thx for the info. Let´s hope it´s on the EC then.

Well considering there is a whole thread on the offical forums complaining about it being on the EC, it most probably is.

Who and why are they complaining? People on the WC complaining maybe?

I was just reading some of the thread. It seems Australians aren't happy with it. Since the server is located in Chicago, most of North America is fine with it, including most Canadians. They say Aventurine put it there to cover as many people as possible. And some EU people are playing on the Chicago server now, and they seem happy with it where it is. So yeah Australians aren't happy.

Or any ex-EVE Online Corp setting up a clan they will fit right in.

A brief guide to translation of EVE Online Corps into Df:UW Clan types

Conceptually there is little difference between what you want to do:

    • City builder = nullsec corp.
    • Small group pvp = lowsec / pirate corps.
    • Naval warefre specialists = nullsec corps (you need a player city shipyard unless they change it).
    • Carebares = Empire space corps.
    • Scarebears = not carebears, rather they were a pirate corps.
    • Griefers clan = Empire space suicide ganker corp.
    • I conquor zee vvorld = Goons style corps.
    • NEW = EVE University
    • Goblin Protection Society = the last word in DF1.0  trade scams, think "Spaceship Barbie, with friends" and you have the right concept.

Why are city builder corps equated with nullsec corps?  Because no matter what anyone says, the moment the hard work is done building a player city someone out there will try to conquor it, same as if you build a station in nullsec - you better have the pvp & political ability to keep it, because someone will try to take it off you.

In terms of finding a clan, don't worry.  You can be certain that on day 1, someone will be trying to build an empire to conquor all of Agon, and to do that they will want players.  Lots of them.

New clans can jump into DF as well, just have a large enough player base that has expierence in first person shooters. If your guild background is themepark raiding style games then you're in for a treat or a very rough couple weeks. If you have people in your guild that are going to cry and complain when they get ganked and lose *everything* they have, then have them stay in whatever game you're coming from. The ultimate reward(taking all your enemies gear) comes with the ultimate risk(losing everything you have on you), a lot of people cannot handle this and break many keyboards before they realize they're not cut out for DF.

Darkfall is perhaps one of the best clan oriented games, but those clans need to understand it is unforgiving in every way. You cannot be a clan of jackasses and expect to hold any sort of territory as you also cannot expect to stand on your own in Darkfall as a new clan. You'll need allied clans and people with the right mind set if you wish to be a factor. Plenty of guilds on DF1.0 release were semi-large themepark top 10 guilds from other games and thought they were going to dominate in DF. They found out otherwise when they realized they were no longer playing against the cliche MMO player and were now up against guilds that had pure PvP backgrounds.

The Darkfall forums are the best place to find a solid guild and to be honest it's not a bad thing to start in a larger(even zerg) style guild. Any clan that has stuck around from EU or NA server release is a guild that will be around in DF2.0 and certain to be what most 'hardcore' themepark players would consider a hardcore guild.
