I'm quite surprised that there isn't a single topic on this game, as it's looking very impressive.

You can find more information about the game on Steparu:

Seeing as there's only one site (steparu.com) that really has any info on it, and the info is an interview that reads like an advertorial, I'm not surprised that no one has heard about it or is talking about it. Doesn't look like a bad game at all, so someone needs to kick their PR team in the ass and get more info out there to a wider audience.

There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein

Game dev company said that game info went on earlier that they wanted to due to Japansese Publisher pushing for info to get released.    One could propably discuss if that's true and beliveable or not - but I don't want personally to dig into this matter.

Anyway there is facebook page about game:

http://www.facebook.com/Pearl.Abyss.Black.Desert      it is in korean though

btw. there was topics about Black Desert in non so distant past. I made one myself. :)

Actually, Massively have already covered the game. Anyway, it looks promising, but as always we will likely have to wait years before it comes here.

It is very sad that the Koreans are almost exclusively the ones pushing Sandbox MMO titles.

Koreans are really started to bring their A-game. The US games of today almost seemed like they're geared towards idiots - no depth or complexity.

Arh, come on, it is really a stretch to call C9 an MMO.

there r already couple of threads about this MMO. Game looks greate. Lots of interesting mechanics like climing walls and buildings, gender class diffrences, ability to hire mercenaries etc.  Looking forward to it.

That's not entirely true. There are many upcoming sandbox games, like Pathfinder Online, Embers of Caerus, The Repopulation, Theralon, The War Z, not to mention obviously the relaunch of Darkfall Online, which are produced in the West.

What strikes me is that all of the Western products are more or less indie titles, whilst Koreans seem to believe more in the potential of a sandbox with titles like Archeage and this Black Desert, both of them with higher budget than our average sandbox production (in the case of Archeage, much higher).
