You know?, in the last 7 months a game like swtor didnt have a single bot or goldspammer, and you can find more games out there in the same situation, so having bots, hackers and goldspammers is not an excuse even worse when anet is doing nothing.

aaaah yes. that's sth completely unexpected ... sure.

or, if you ever played another mmo before, you are used to it in the beginning, and wait till they fixed it.

^ biggest denial I've ever seen, yes there are bots, I encounter them often and report them, and yes the trading post was down for a good solid week on the first week of launch and then pretty often the second week.

I just uploaded a video I recorded of spotting a handful of bots on the first week of release and there are still bots there today:

In SWTOR there were, but at a lower number yet I got gold spam emails everyday in that game, ugh!

    Not only bots.

Each time I log in I see new gold advertise spammers.

NewsFlash: GW2 being a "BuyToPlay" product does not have the resources on hand to "deal with" and "track" hundreds of thousands of botters at once.

Oh, also the article doesn't clearly define "botting" as opposed to "multiboxers".

I've come across quite a few multiboxers who got their first account after launch to 80 in a couple days and wanted the challenge of multiboxing 5 toons at once. These are LEGAL accounts, but the automated chumpkins are the ones that need banning.

I report everyone I see botting.

Kessex Hills bridge event w/ the Centuar attack is like... perfect place to clean house on Botters.

Take note Anet - just watch that area like a hawk.

I really, really hope every single time I report a botter for botting there is a consequence for those botters.

I saw a bot yesterday.  Can't say how common it is as I am on the move quite a bit.  But there was a guy skipping from point to point in a pattern, attacking mobs, similar to a video someone recently posted.

I've been fighting bots since the game went live... I have reported countless bots and posted multiple videos.

They ban people for Karma exploits and make a BIG DEAL out of it. The electronic equivalent of putting people in handcuffs and walking them around they room.

Weeks on end.. bots, reports, no action... no word from Anet.

I love this game, but they need to wise up on this subject.

I yust report such guys out of automatism, my mind yust forgets about them 1 second after that.

Just because a player singlemindedly does the same thing doesn't prove it is a bot. How many people don't do the easiest thing for the most gain over and over.

Keep reporting people if you suspect a bot, but Anet will need a lot more than a few reports before they start banning. They need to investigate how routine the player really is and for some bots that is easy for others that is hard. It can also mean real players will get banned if they are doing something mindless enough over and over.

No and they never banned tens of thousands of bots in GW1 either, maybe had a 0 extra to the end even. But please, keep shitting on things you know nothing about.

Does it mentioned how everyone in the game world feels like a bot?

HAHAH i am laughing so much.. i can't stop Gw2 Black trading Market wasnt offline for 2 weeks so that guy in there lies.. i played 3 days after launch and i could acces it with no problems and i doubt there are any bots in gw2 so far..

and if there are they just waste time on making bots.. pretty useless to do in gw2.

The trading post was offline for two weeks with ocassional 2 to 3 hours uptime and then it used to go offline again. So nope guy is not lying. BTC was indeed offline for majority of time for 2 weeks.

That was 3 weeks to a month ago. -.-

It already works so I really don't understand why you people have to start with such things now allover again.

Seriously don't you have anything else to do then trying to put down this game 24/7 by trying to find anything that can be seen as negative and come in the forums posting left and right about it?

As about bots I haven't come across ANY since the end of august. I think I saw a gold seller in the chat  2 weeks ago and they already added as a additionaly point "gold selling" under the report button in your mailbox so you don't have to report such mails as scamming anymore but directly as gold sellers.

You should also keep in mind that most of these bots or gold sellers that appeared were hacked accounts from people that don't bother to use a different password and most of all not a hard one when they register somewhere.

So if someone hacks their account on one site and goes through games trying to login, they mostly get a hit by a game or another site which leads to the personal information and more.

Due to the hack on the guildwars2guru site many got affected and their accounts were used by these botters.

They seem to have cleared most of them in the meantime though so what we see or notice is barely anything anymore.

This game takes far to much skill to allow bots... oh... not really. XD

Seriously though, I'm not all that surprised. They made things far to simple and the dodge mechanic is more of a gimmick when it comes to a lot of world events. The fact rewards aren't really 'lost' all that much with having multiples in them makes it easy to create a bot 'zerg' much like a player zerg that trivializes the content to a point that its quickly done and all the rewards are taken. The videos were a nice touch but honestly if you just play the game its pretty easy to see this all happening in game if you look at the popular spots.

I am always wary of using Black Lion Trading for fear it might gobble my cash and not give me anything for it ,as on and off you hear people complaining it does. As for bots I spend most of the time playing and watching my own combos and trying to get and play as much as I can for the time I ahve I have not been paying any attention to others. But people do not speak I notice ,I think they may be all bots cos they do not even thank me when I rez them. Ah well game is not sub based so I guess cash is limited for these type of things.

I simple referred to topic which discusses BOT problems in detail. That is what forums are for right? discussion? my OP was never about trade post and how buggy it was for couple of weeks. I was simple replying to that person who was under denial that TP never went down since launch. Also, do i need your permission before posting on forums? if it bothers you so much stop reading maybe? last time i checked this was not a fan site. Theere are some genuine issues which people like to discuss. This is not some 'GW2 sucks' post.

And that last line is other example of complete denial. I for instance got one or two gold seller email in last week but i have seen around 5 to 6 bots just farming out side Divinity's Reach. And even after repeatedly reporting them they are still there. You are confusing bots with gold sellers. Only bcause gold seller spam is reduced doesn't mean bots are gone.

If Anet was smart they would get something like this:  http://www.crispthinking.com/technology/overview/

Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...

Haha the funny part of the read was the mention of FFXI botting. It is most certainly true i was around ffxi from day 1.

Square might have been slow to react,i agree not just botting but on warp scripts that allowed players to cheat other legit players from nodes and boss claims.

Square was however the FIRST of any developer to do anything at all and they did do a lot of things to try and curb it.It was sad because as soon as Square published they had duped rmt out of billions, other games started to follow suit.It shoudln't take one developer to push others, they SHOULD all be willing to ensure a good environment for it's players.Even the players in game should not have to beg it's developer, they shoudl take an active roll in theirgame and simply look around, botters are not hard to spot.

I know one thing for sure and yes i did play Lineage,no game will ever have more bots than when Silkroad online was in it's hayday,it was like 95% bots 5% players,no exaggeration. What bothered me the most before Sqaure started to publicize it was the MANY players who simply did not understand the problem with it.

They get a double take from players, first they sell the currency, then they get it back when the players spend it lol. That way the can take the currency and sell it to them again and again. This  drives up prices on auction so that the legit players have to grind even longer, spend more or give in and also buy from rmt.

It's not unimportant.  I remember in Swtor a few of us that had got to Ilum first, and there was a level 15 there doing nothing but opening a chest every time it opened.  Against my wishes my guild rolled on a pve server otherwise I would have one shot that imp sov in the head.  Unfortunately GW2 doesn't have players able to weed out bots,(not owpvp) my one gripe with the game.

/edit the real downside for me, and one major reason I quit swtor, was the same character was there 3 weeks later.  Proactive can't hurt.

I assume anyone that does not say "thank you" when ressed is a bot.

    Oh great attitude there!

Do you even know that the trading post were indeed available even the first days or weeks to some?

Except if you are THAT full of yourself  thinking that only because it wasn't for you it wasn't for anyone.

To answer your question: No, you don't need "my permission" to post here nor did I ever said so.

There are also OTHER types of topics one can create but some people here tend to only jump in here and start negative threads 24/7 with straw arguments most of the time which is tiring in the meantime.

Most of all since we had all these types of topics constantly here and discussed the SAME things over and over and over again each and everyday.

So if you want to offend only because you don't like to be corrected and acting all up saying others are in denial only because they didn't came across ANY bots for weeks anymore I can't assure you that  you are not the only person on this planet you know.

If you saw a bot somewhere then it's fine with me, I however didn't and the gold emails have nothing to do with it either.

I just mentioned gold spammers and the mail because it was the only form of a hacked account I came across recently and I already mentioned in my post that most of the bots AND gold spammers came through it.

Also mentioned it as one of the solutions that were added recently (selecting Gold Seller while reporting through mail) only because someone in this very topic said that "nothing has been done" which isn't true.

Thanks for "letting me know" that gold spammers are not bots but I already knew the difference.

Maybe the next time you read a reply you should consider that not the whole reply is directed to you?

    Just for your info aswell:

Queensdale is outside of divinitys reach, I was there for hours yesterday and completed the area as also did a dungeon run after. So even I run through the whole area there were no bots around at all.

It might be the case that you have some on your server, I can't tell, overgeneralizing the whole situation because of that doesn't justify the whole thing cause there are definately more than one servers in game though.
