So according to the "experts" this is the list of different and fun things you are supposed to be able to do at lv 80.
I love how the 90% of it is :
-Grind for Gear
-Grind for achievements
-Grind for collect random crap
-Spam dungeons like crazy
But hey, it´s GW2, that automatically makes it non-grind and fun apparently, even though any other game would be burned to death if they presented such a list as "endgame content"
I like the game, i have bought gems two times already to support it, and i will keep getting the expansions and whatever they throw at us because i enjoy the game, but it came to a moment where anything gw2 does is automatically holy and fun for no other reason that it´s gw2
And this is why i hate this game´s fanbois much more than i do hate the haters, despite the fact i do enjoy the game myself.
This is getting ridiculous.

Is one of the options spending the rest of your natural life getting a Legendary Weapon from the Infinite Forge thing? I didn't read all of them.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
You can make a similar list for every mmorpg ever released and 90% of it will be some form of grinding too.
I think this was done to combat the "nothing to do at 80" folks not the "omg GW2 has totally different end-game" folks.
I think this proves there is plenty to do at 80, and anyone who ever thought GW2 would be some holy grail of different end-game play was fooling themselves.
It's just the entire game is pretty much what's on this list and most themepark MMOs you have to be 80 first and then the game changes, GW2 the game 1-79 is pretty much the same as the game at 80.
That's the difference, and is still not "unique" as most sandbox games are this way too (no "different' end-game at the top.)
You reallize that you're playing it wrong, right?
don'tbanme, don'tbanme, don'tbanme
I want a mmorpg where people have gone through misery, have gone through school stuff and actually have had sex even. -sagil

Yes, alongside "prank your friends" and "Make guild events" and other similar things that are apparently game content.
Like in UO, you know what I was doing before I was 7X GM?
The same stuff I was doing after I was 7X GM.
It is "different" than most other themepark MMOs in that sense, but not unique to GW2 and actually quite common in the sandbox sub-genre.
Again I think this list was put together to combat the "nothing to do at 80" crowd, not put together to tout how "revolutionary and different GW2 end-game is" because it's really not - it's just different then a lot of themepark MMOs.
I just read the list and I get it now. I think. What I really think is an editor came up with the subject of an article (80 things to do at level 80 is too 'neat'), and then handed it off to some unlucky person who had to start making things up. The truly unlucky person is the person who had to write that article. There's no way they could have written a good list.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
Well boo hoo, excuse me while I produce the worlds smallest violin. A million and one raid grinding mmos ~> that a way
Dude, you're having fun the wrong way!
Don't ban me either.
Also, special 81 for GW1 playwers- Jump.
I can do this kind of list too.
PONG ENDGAME:
- Hit the "ball" with your upper edge
-Hit the "ball" with your lower edge
- Hit the ball with your mid-section
-Make the "ball" go upwards
-Make the "ball" go downwards
-Make the ball bounce 4 times between the two sticks
- Collect all the differently colored pong sticks
-Beat your father 3 matches in a row
-Beat your mother 3 matches in a row
-Beat all your friends
-Make a pong fanclub
-Obtain 30 members for your pong fanclub
And i could do this for hours, and it is still all true.
Macroing before 7X GM
Not macroing after 7X GM
GW2= Nothing like UO in any sense of the meaning.
I love when people try to use this as a defense... when the same list can be made for virtually every MMO out there.
Guildwars 2 lacks 'end game' in terms of content specific for reaching the end. Its up to you if it matters or not, and it doesn't mean its a bad game just becuase it doesn't have some components. That being said, the list itself is quite silly as it makes itself sound as if its a vast list of things to do, when the list can be created easily on many other different games, and even expanded upon likely more (which to be fair to GW2, is in part due to having been out a bit longer).
Either way, such a list is really a poor way to justify things to do at 80.
Some of us actually didn't macro in UO. Some of us actually played and enjoyed the game.
And post Trammel/Felucca split UO pre-LBR is more similar in design philosophy and "feel" to GW2 than GW2 is similar to any EQ/WoW/Post-Wow themepark.
But that's off topic.
The list is dumb - but I believe was just made to show the obvious logical flaws in the "there is nothing to do at 80" comments we keep seeing.
No, there is no raiding and gear treadmill, but there is plenty to do at 80.
Ya'll need to lighten up!
I don't know where you saw/heard that everything GW2 does is automatically holy and fun for no other reason that it´s gw2, but that's just plain false. It's not because it's GW2 but more because it's Anet and they know how to make good games. The game is fun and challenging, sure there's still some kind of grind, but at least it's not as bad as other MMO's where you need to grind for everything and the grind will usually take a lot longer in other games too.
Welcome to the world of MMO's where every single MMO will always have some form of "grind" so that people don't loose interest too soon.
Maybe I'm saying the same thing but I think the difference for me is not in what you have to do but how it isn't all linked together. Maybe linked isn't quite right for most MMOs I feel I"m funneled to one piece of content. For me I don't have to grind the best PvE gear to PvP I can just PvP. I can access all the dungeons one is not linked to the other. There are more. So, when I log in my options are open. As a casual player that is infinitely more accessable then most MMOs. There certainly is grind but I can choose my grind and I'm not penalized for not choosing the "right" grind.
I miss DAoC
What Jackdog said.
Endgame is a myth.

Sometime's I see sometihng that just make me LMAO... ;o)
I agree with what you are saying entirely.
In GW2 you don't have to grind quests to max level, then grind regular dungeons to get the gear to grind heroic dungeons to get the gear to grind raids.
In GW2 crafting is not just a grind to fill in for the drops you don't get from the above grinding process.
In GW2 you don't have to grind PvP endlessly to get the gear to stand a chance at winning.
And in GW2 all of the above is not made completely pointless and irrelevant in X months when the next tier of content/gear/season starts.
It proves those saying there is nothing to do at 80 wrong but also proves that the game is indeed a grind feast. Even the so called dynamic content feels grindy after you have done it enough.
hell yes, i dont mind if the gear becomes obsolete. i m doing it for the fun and challenge to defeat a real boss, with real fight mechanics. all this with others that they care what i m doing. that matters what they are doing either to me or to the boss. not a stupid run and zerg on stupids and mindless DE bosses. no1 cares what they do (if they do something special) or what they must do to them or the other players around. it will be killed anyway. i m sure that after countless DE boss fights none has noticed anything about them. only if they are bugged
and yes, its funny to gank ppl if you are willing to be ganged too. its funny to questing and have your mind to enemy players around and not only stupid mobs. thats why the pvp servers are. thats why you have the option to play on pve or rp servers. open world pvp is the ultimate feeling at least for players who arent bots or want just to sleap on a nod waiting to respawn
