On that I beg to differ. Maybe the GTC was "working" on Launch but it wasn't functional till 1.2 gave it a usable interface.

Yes it was working as in sell and buy stuff in comparison to GW2 where it was offline for more than a week with ocaasional up time for an hour or so ina day.

The gold I purchased crafting mats on the auction house, was suppose to be 40s it ate all my money and never did get any of the mats I purchased.

Still as I said before considering I can actually get into the game and its playable I consider myself lucky compared to what I see on the official forums.

They have stated on the forums that it is impossible to lose gold on the AH. If you buy something (it might take some time) but you will get what you purchased. The way the system is designed its virtually impossible for anything to get lost along with way. What more then likely happened is you placed a buy order for an item and its still waiting for the order to be filled by a seller.

I will be the first to admit that there AH system does not have the best interface in the world. It could be improved alot in displaying the information. If you go into using it like you did the AH in WoW then you are going to be confused up the wazzo. Because that is not how the AH works. Think more along the lines of Eve Onlines AH system.

As far as the gems go. If you put in a ticket you will get the gems (if you where not hacked) as everything is logged an they can easily see that you bought them.

As far as getting into the game. There is a % of people having issues. Noone denys that, but I doubt by any stretch of the imagination is 10%. More then likely along the lines of 1-2% of the population (not that, that is acceptable or anything like that). The game has sold way more then a million copies. It's sold so many copies that ANet themselfs have stopped self selling digital copies of the game in there store. An that says something cause direct game sells are one of your biggest money makers when it comes to sells.

Just do a base scan of the official account forums and you will quickly realize there are some horrific issues with the game that are not being dealt with in a timely or accurate manner.

Frankly I now understand the justification of paying a month subscription fee if that is what is required to provide a quality support team.

On a personal note so far I have lost $50 worth of gems, 7 gold, and everything that was in my primary bank box.

However compared to people that havent even been able to play the game at all yet due to account issues I consider myself doing good.

If you can call Guild Wars 2 a '' failure '' because the support team isn´t responding right away, nowadays, you should have seen WoW when it was first released.

WoW is now #1 mmorpg in the world, so yeah, your '' explanation '' is invalid due to lack of good arguments. Try to check other major releases next time before argumenting '' this is a failure support team '' and don´t compare multi-million mmos with such, having 200k.

    Have a nice day.

Geez, I'm glad I didn't buy that game and pay $15/month for that mess.  No wonder that game never went anywhere or had any impact in the MMO world.  How pitiful.  As much as they charged for their game, you'd think they'd have their crap together at launch.  Talk about epic fail.....

I dont get where people are pulling these "game breaking issues" out from.  Im lvl 60 now, I haven't been banned, I haven't lost any of my gems, I haven't lost any of my gold, and Im having a blast, and it seems like everyone else on live is as well. Obviously the games not perfect but seriously stick to real issues, or provide proof for the ones you claim exist.

Point being they could have had a que instead of an overflow and probably managed to keep the AH and other functions working. But then people like you would make posts, crying about being stuck in que.

So you didn't bother to read did you? you just want to start back and forth flaming. But i am no mood to be baited. I wasn't 'crying' or 'bitching' about anything My reply was in direct reply to comparisons of various MMO launches made by shakeymo. This reply was further quoted which you lalbeled as 'bitching'. I was simply giving my experince regarding two MMOS..but i guess it is a crime to say something even remotely negative about GW2.

It is simple actually. When a thread, somewhere, is opened about a bug, all haters change to '' MR PRO '' and open threads about how buggy the game is, though the most of them don´t even play it. The same thing happened before launch, or should I remind this forum, of how many people opened threads, calling Guild Wars 2, for a Guild Wars clone with new graphics ?!

Otherwise, I am not saying that the game is bug-free, because it is not. However, the bugs, compared to how large the game is, are actually nothing. Also, compared to WoW release, this is pretty normal, things went prett bad for Blizz in the begining, much worse, than what they are going now for ArenaNet, I would say.

i feel bad for those who were hacked, and for those that have good systems yet get poor perfomance. but sorry bro, gw2 IS the best game ever. it's dominating metacritic and they had to stop sales due to unreal demand. i called it 4 years ago...this game WILL be the next WoW in terms of mass appeal and market dominance.

No you don't.  I hadn't noticed this when I first read your post, but this is a fallacy.  SWTOR had terrible customer service, WoW started out with bad customer service, and it still isn't that great if you ask me.  There's no evidence to support having a sub gets you better service, that's asinine.

Do you honestly think MMO support staff (which is quite a specialised job) are hired in numbes and trained up to staffing levels to be able to cope with launch week deluges? no they are staffed for the medium term.

The first few weeks of ANY launched MMO is catagorised by slow CS response times due to this.

SWTOR customer support was way better than GW2 support has been. I had one issue with SWTOR that took one 5 minute phone call to fix. I think I waited for maybe a minute to talk to someone.

Compare this to 4 day waits and e-mail response from Arenanet.

For you maybe, I haven't heard such glowing reviews from people I know personally.  My best friend waited 2 weeks and sent several emails and called on the phone, they were never able to help him so he quit the game.  When people wait 2 weeks for an answer from ANet, I'll start to believe their CS is worse than most other MMO companies.  My point was, subs have nothing to do with it.

I bought gems and tried buying a dye pack. I instead got nothing and lost my gems. I sent in a ticket,  2 days later got a mass reply that a lot of these problems had been fixed, checked, and I had my gems back. The game just released and I'm not going to QQ over this. This really is a first world problem.

I derive my strength from passion. Do you feel that? That is what seperates you and I, Jedi!

ive gotten all the help i asked for from SWTOR people. Many times. They always came through - even when I accidentally deleted a character I had over 50 days invested in (24 hours x 50+ days).... within 18 hours of filing ticket my greebly character was restored!

Have yet to see how GW2 people handle CS. I wont prejudge anything though.

So you mean because Arenanet can't insta-fix an issue then they must not be taking care of things in a 'timely manner'? I need for you to define timely for me. Is it within 24 hours that you want to see raining bug fixes from on high? Is it within a week? Or have you just failed to see the numerous fixes they have already applied within the last week and the fact that they even take the time to put out a "state of the game" article every few days to keep players up to date on what the game is doing and what issues have been addressed. The trading post and mail system are moving full steam ahead now, though occasionally they take it down for maint. for about a minute or two before bringing it back online. But guess what; They don't have to bring the entire game down to do it.

People that are getting hacked are the ones with low account security. Arenanet can only do so much to help protect you from theft, from there you have to want to protect yourself. Like making a password stronger than Qwerty1234, or ensuring that you don't use the same email address and password for everything under the sun, and being sure that you don't respond to bogus emails from parties claiming to be legitimate businesses(Arenanet, Ncsoft, Blizzard, Battlenet, etc).

A good man i once knew use to tell me this "No one ever has their identity or accounts stolen...they give them away."

To the OP: I still think a reason the main forums were down as long as they were was not the fact they had issues with them, it was more to squelch the complaints and angry posts. Because the first place someone goes for help or official word on game issues is the main forums.

Anet is slowly getting things resolved for players, and they are attempting to keep people updated as much as possible. Simple fact is though, Anet was just not ready.

Reddit.  Facebook.  Twitter.   Mutilple game sites.   All extremely public and don't require ownership of the game in which to participate.

User-only game forums....   Not so much...

You spot the flaw in your argument yet?

    No flaw.

The sites you mention are secondary sites. When people want info on an issue in a game they are playing, first place they head is the official site for the official forums. When they don't find the answer there they then move onto secondary sources (official twitter account, favorite gaming forums) etc. When that does not yield the answers, its time to google.

Now when you take into account that a lot of people don't use these 3rd party/social networking sites often or may not have heard about (or heard bad things about) some of these 3rd party community sites, why would they think about going there first?

So the flaw is on your end, as you assume everyone uses these sites or even heard of a few of them. When people have an issue with a product they purchased, the first place they usually head on the internet is to the official website.

There are 3 types of people in the world.
1.) Those who make things happen
2.) Those who watch things happen
3.) And those who wonder "What the %#*& just happened?!"

People need to start reading the daily update on the wiki (and reddit). Yesterdays update notes that those who have lost gems are getting them back.

I will never say that Anet is bad at updating the game or fixing issues in the game. We get a patch in this game EVERY SINGLE DAY that fixes a lot of shit, updates security. Now they are refunding gems and have given a free Deluxe Ed upgrade to those with the error that kept them from playing early access.

Yes, CS is rather slow, but they are overwhelmed. But other than that no MMOG company has 'ever' been this on top of things or connected to their community.

These types of posts are absolutely amazing to me. The game has been out what like less than 2 weeks? Besides that, I'd be hard pressed to name an issue that makes the game unplayable. Trade post is working. The group bug is very rare. Overflow issues are becoming less and less noticable now that people have leveled up and spread out. Account hacking has just as much, if not more, to do with the player as it does with the company. Very little server downtime, almost no disconnects.

So what's the issue here? Oh, I forgot:
