Well according to Metacritic - 8 Critics reviews = 93/100

999 User Reviews - 8.5 average

http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/guild-wars-2

Making GW2 (thus far) one of the top critic reviewed MMORPG's of all time and the top user reviewed MMORPG of all time.

Still too soon? Give it a couple of weeks?

Yeah, lets wait until the game been out 6 weeks. It is fun now but better being a careful general than deciding that whatever you play for the moment is the best game ever every time.

Granted, there are some... interesting trends in both Critic reviews and User reviews -

TOR is tied at 93/100 and 8.9/10 user on Metacritic - if that tells you anything... but with only 550~ user reviews.

Seriously? who the hell trusts gamesite reviews? most of those have a business relationship with Anet (ads)

And who the hell trusts user reviews with fanboys rating 10 and haters 0?

The only way to see if the game is successful is to track its population over the next 2-3 months.

I don't take metacritic seriously anymore... If I want to see how's the game doing I check more than 3 reviewing sites and then see the average scores. Still, I'd like to see how the game will be graded in 3 months from now... I really hope it'll keep the good scores.

Reviewes are good way to tell the quality of a game since when?

TOR got glowing reviews from every official game site. Yes, it's at 8.5, but IMO, while i don't think it's garbage or anything like that, it's not worth that much of a high score.

On the other hand, metacritic user reviews are always full of 9-10/10 and 0-4/10 for completly stupid reasons beyond pure fanboys and haters.

Only your own personall review score is what matters. To me, GW2 is between 7.5 and 8.5 from what i saw in beta and full research of the game and it's systems. Many will not agree, and that's why opinions are different.

Whether GW2 gets 9.5 on fincal score, 7 on user score, on whatever else, it doens't really determine the quality of the game in itself.

Oh, and yes, the game isn't even 1 month old. it's still too soon for complete reviews.

My thoughts exactly. Reviews are about as useful as politician speeches. If you want to know how the game is doing keep an eye out for the next few NCSoft financial quaterlies.

Its not a bad game, polished, virtually bug free well done theme park. I preordered the game but after playing for a couple of days I decided to cancel my preorder and they gave my money back.Weak PVP,  (not a DAOC)

Since it does not have a monthly sub, it should do well, they just have to spend more money to get the word out about the game...

But, there is no sub, so in theory unless they realese an expansion every quater, the "quartlies" wont be of much use. Only as an indicator of how NC manages their business.
