Anet: "endgame is not 100% completed"

I consider the promise of GvG endgame.

Observer mode is a valuable tool in that specific kind of endgame.

None of those will be ready at release, but Anet made that clear a long time ago.

If they pull a Funcom and announce (later today) that: Hey, WvW and sPvP was just not as fun as we thought so we are skipping those features: I would be ready to enter dramamode.

Going drama because of old news and the fact they were honest about it? Sorry not about to ;-)

We dont need casuals in our games!!! Errm... Well we DO need casuals to fund and populate our games - But the games should be all about "hardcore" because: We dont need casuals in our games!!!
    (repeat ad infinitum)

IF true, it really depends on what is completed or not. If explorable dungeons aren't... then I would be irritated. I guess we'll have to see. I hope they don't really believe "it will take time to get to endgame" cause it's one of the fastest levelling I've ever seen...

PS - They are aware of the disaster of Diablo with the end-game and ensured that will not happen to GW2, after the release team will jump all just work in end-game.

    5. Are being explored new methods of PvP, GvG is confirmed to return to GW2, but said they could not disclose much more.

    6. New merchandise will be launched on 28/08/2012, including Dragon T-Shirts.

Here's the thing... as much as it would be a nice warm and fuzzy to hear the entire endgame (whatever that may be) is fully, 100% ready, it will take some time for people to get there. Even if a few race on ahead and miss most of the world in a mad dash to get there they likely won't be able to do much anyhow until the rest of the world catches up. One does not simply walk into Orr and complete it alone. The work it'll take to simply gain access to the final dungeons will act as a buffer against the speedy, foolhardy few.

So they are admitting the game isn't going to be complete for launch. They are releasing the game incomplete. This would bother me more if I didn't intend to spend 100% of my time in WvWvW. Now if I can't play WvWvW at launch, then you'll hear me rage.

Even if the rumor about PvE end-game launching unfinished were true; I'll be working on 3-5 characters up to 80 before you see me complaining about the lack of stuff to do.  Someone that has set their sights on focusing a single character might get bored IF they despised pvp, but that is not me at all.  I love playing a game from each classes' perspective, and I enjoy well-designed pvp.  Worst-case scenerio insinuated here sounds like months of fun before I dig out my pitch fork and torch.  Should be enough time to flesh out whatever is rumored to be missing.

Well dont cry if you reach max level in 2 days and ask Anet we dont have anything to do :P
I mean most people play games to enjoy the game and have fun.
Rushing to the finish line and saying where is the rest ? is not that smart :)

I have not seen Arenanet broke promises, i still have 100% faith in that studio.

Ok, portuguese... it doesn't change my post at all anyway. He could have been of my own country that I would have posted the same.

Anet already replying to End-game complainers)))))

Only thing I read except for the OP is on 4chan /vg, where someone claiming to be in the closed beta said they were testing Orr last week.  No link since it's 4chan, and yeah it's 4chan, so it could be pure BS.

Also I seem to recall some video interview with an Anet employee a month ago who said they were still working on Zhaitan but I cant remember where it was.

I'm not in a rush for Zhaitan but I'm sure there are those who wants to finish the game as soon as possible for various reasons. Lets hope Anet is ready for those.

I'm not worried.  My endgame involves rolling alts, crafting everything that can be crafted, and a daily dose of WvW.

That and ANet isn't the source. The title of this thread is misleading.

    That's mistranslated.

I don't think they mean that.

If anything they mean they're still adding content, they don't mean Arah is launching half done.

The same was true for Vanilla WoW,  Dire Maul and 40-man raids were all added later, after launch.  Things turned out okay for that game, I would say. image

afaik release of wow for the states was somewhere in november 2004. i actually still played the EU beta those days (after playing the US beta for quite some time now).

according to the timeline, 1.1 was released on november the 7th 2004 and introduced MC.

point being, MC was in (not sure for the states, but i had it in my version, EU).

diremaul came later correct, but that's not highend content is it?

i still dont know why they actually released earlier in the states, maybe they needed some payed beta testers *G*

so, if you release sth within the first month, sure, that's no big deal. if you need like 4 or even more months or sth tho.... people WILL be bored without highend content (there aint alot of mmo's that take longer than a month to max lvl)

ps: for the next time you wanna make up some statements about WoW classic:

Not a creditable source. So far, all official statements by ANet at conventions or expos are backed up by Twitter and Facebook. If the infromation wasn't released there, then it's not an official ANet statement and shouldn't be taken as fact or even remotely close to it.

from the various leaks it appears this is true, but it needs to be more robust. From the leaked information on various feeds it seems that high level end game areas and content is about 80% done so its not like there is nothing there. Its just not all there yet.

I hope it's completely BS, just on the very off chance that they might decide to delay the release, something that would indeed make me extremely unhappy!

According to a leak, it's about 90% done now, it's just tuning up that's needed now.

    - Yes, even Anet calls it endgame. It's time for fanboys to stop saying "the endgame starts at level 2".

    - "ANET is not expecting the the end-game to be reachable quickly" <- we all know that's not true.

    - scary D3 comparisons

for one they just have to define the endgame (e.g. last zones) as endgame, makes it easier than saying, the whole game is endgame but the end game at the end game is also endgame ? (confused myself a little there) and they said they were going to avoid the D3 disaster.

plus you missed the best news, if that if your account gets hacked and you claim it back it will be returned to its former state before hackage :)

I'm shocked, really I am... This just follows the trend of theme parks having poor first impressions on launch day. Very inexcusable considering the game has been in development for 5+ years. I wonder what other stuff is not complete they aren't sharing with fans.

Grim Dawn, the next great action rpg!

otinanai123, why did you not post about the other leaks saying the "endgame" is about 90% done.  Stirring up the pot for no reason.   Also,  who the is that guy.  It is just some random dude on a forum.

    BOOYAKA!
