Are guild battles 1guild vs 1 guild or can it be larger?

I heard talk that guikd sieges are Instanced. Well if that's the case, how many guilds can fight on the same map at a time?

Gw2 has 3 faction battles. Would be awesome to have at least three guild battles rather than 1v1.

This is how things worked in CB4.

If a guild wants to lay siege to a player built castle, they need to kill a wold boss on the 3rd continent to get a war deceleration item.

Then they need to wait for the castle to be open. Xl games put sieges on a timer, because players were upset that they lost stuff while they were offline at 3am..lol

Once a Castle goes open, the guild can use their war deceleration item. Once that happens a wall goes up and only the guild that declares and the defending guild can participate. So I guess it is sorta instanced, and it's 1 vs 1..lol

Other players can watch what is going on but can't get in and participate.

By the end of the Beta I think it could be up to 100 vs 100 players.

Castle walls have tons of HP, so your gonna have to bring tons of siege weapons if you want to break though the wall.

Here is an example of a Russian guild defending their castle during a siege in CB4. Claim territory, Build your castle, and defend!

    Thats disappoint.ing.

In Shadowbane, anyone could show up to a siege. So  guilds could call in allies to help them.

This made politics exciting. With new alliances always being fomed and disbanded

And some guilds showed up just  to start trouble and attacked both sides.

And there wasn't any size limit. We often had 200 vs 200 battles. Yea the lag was bad with that many people. But it was worth it knowing that anyone could show up. There were no restrictions. It was complete freedom..

Well, rather than just a bunch of unrelated people looking to cause mayhem gathering on the map hot spots to lay waste to some poor guild minding their own business, the guild vs guild system makes a seige assault an extremely personal and prejudice attack.  A semi-rare and meaningful occurance perhaps?

This carries alot of political weight IMO, as opposed to just anonymous folks jumping in to attack someone they don't even know .. just because they were bored and an attack was already underway.
