Favorite Guild Wars 2 race

Insert standard text asking you to take the poll to tell us your favorite race in Guild Wars 2.

Now, let the poll begin!

P.S.  I would appreciate it if people describe why they picked the race that they chose.  The more discussion the better, just leave the fire spells and Charrzookas at the door.

    Well, I wasn't expecting Asura, but now I think that will be my main at launch

    Human. Strangely so, since usually I don't play humans. But their starter zone and quests are just cool.

    Second fav would be Norn, I love that Norse feeling. Almost as nice Sylvari, but it is a tad too mystical and those dark forest setting is sort of depressing me lol, dont ask me why. It was the same with the Night Elf starter zone in WOW, the gloomy forests there made me sad.

    Don't like Asura and Charr, just nothing I can relate to.

    I normally play the larger brute/beast type races so I was considering Charr or Norn but after trying out the Asura I noticed something that changed my mind completely.  IMHO the Asura have the best/most accurate run animation, the Charr as a close second.  That might not matter to some but watching my character run takes up a LOT of my play time in MMO's so if I have the option to choose a race that does it right, I plan on it.

    human and sylvari , i dunno i think that the human enginer and guardian armor look way cooler then all other race same for the sylvari they are pretty close and they are both profession iam going to level so ya :P

    Human actually. I like the idea of them being beaten down but not giving up. A second would but the Norn, just because of their starting area, I actually like dark forests lol.

    Well, I chose the Charr with the Norn in close second.  The Norn, well they are a race of giants, always like that, but the Charr? A race of horned felines with four ears and the most advanced technology on the planet (Asura don't count since they use magic to power their "technology", which is cheating in my opinion); how could I not pick them?

    Since when is Tuesday a direction?

    I would've said Humans myself before this weekend.  Though in the few hours that I played Asura, I just fell in love with their animations and snobby nature.  It may be because I'm a researcher and information retrieval specialist as part of my career.

    I enjoy the condescending races in games for some reason.  I don't think it's indicative of my actual nature, but rather maybe a subconcious approval of those characters being hard workers and becoming jaded to the world by effect.

    There are times where I become such as well, especially when you read about highly depressing things and have to write about it in an unbias fashion.

    Due to frequent travel in my youth, English isn't something I consider my primary language (and thus I obtained quirky ways of writing).  German and French were always easier for me despite my family being U.S. citizens for over a century.  Spanish I learned as a requirement in school, Japanese and Korean I acquired for my youthful desire of anime and gaming (and also work now).  I only debate in English to help me work with it (and limit things).  In addition, I'm not smart enough to remain fluent in everything and typically need exposure to get in the groove of things again if I haven't heard it in a while.  If you understand Mandarin, I know a little, but it has actually been a challenge and could use some help.

    Also, I thoroughly enjoy debates and have accounts on over a dozen sites for this.  If you wish to engage in such, please put effort in a post and provide sources -- I will then do the same with what I already wrote (if I didn't) as well as with my responses to your own.  Expanding my information on a subject makes my stance either change or strengthen the next time I speak of it or write a thesis.  Allow me to thank you sincerely for your time.

    Untill today I had fully intended to go human. However, aftering seeing that Sylvari had luminescent features and looked bloody interesting...I couldn't resist.

    Asura and Sylvari, both feel and play a bit different than Norm and Human races. Also their starting areas and main cities look way better, more lively and colorful than Human's or Norm's.

    never been so stunned by art design as i was when created my Sylvari, their concept and art are amazing. Arenanet excelled big big in GW2 races, Humans are the less interesting the others are all very cool.

    So far it's a bit of a toss up.  I love how the Asura are little cocky beasts that have their noses so far in the sky that a bird might roost in there.  But I'm also in love with the Sylvari in how beautiful they are and how they're so interesting.   Gosh, glad I get this whole weekend to back and forth them before the game's launch so that I might have a decision by then.

    I just tried out the Asura for kicks and I have to say their animations have completely won me over. I just love the way they move, bounce, and slide everywhere. Also I enjoy the Asura humor.

    i chose asura also i know this will sound weird but they remind me so much of warhammer onlins goblin greenskin race and that was by far my favorite race out of all games ive played to date. If anyone recalls playing it remember /special the goblin was awesome!
