Asherons Call 1, updated graphics ONLY.
After that it should be
Asherons Call 1
Asherons Call 1
Asherons Call 1
Asherons Call 1
Asherons Call 1
Asherons Call 1
Mech Warrior 2
Ultima 4
The Elder Scolls Marrowind
I say Asherons Call 1 7 times because the MMORPG genre needs a game like that, one of the few MMOs that didnt fit into that tiny little box created by D&D.
Giving Asheron's Call 1 a graphics overhaul with the three non-human AC2 races as an added bonus would certainly be something I'd check out.
Daggerfall (Yes, yes I want 10,000 procedurally generated cities and territories. Bring back massive procedural games!)
Freelancer
Elite
Privateer
Black and White
Star Trek: Elite Force
Vampire: Redemption / The Masquerade
The Syndicate
Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri
KotOR (less MMO, more advanced graphics goodness)
Honorable Mentions:
Gemstone IV (a graphical remake of a text MUD please?)
Starfleed Command 3 (complexity done right)
Well, let's go then.
1. Unreal (And I mean the original)
2. Killer Instinct (Come on, need more than just Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter)
3. System Shock (Bioshock was fun, but spiritual successors are not my thing)
4. Heretic (Think it's been rotting too long)
5. Quake (The first one with the Cthulu like setting)
6. Jet Force Gemini (Why not)
7. Dead Lock (We could use a good turn-based strategy game)
8. Lemmings (DO IT NOW)
9. Uniracers (Wish I didn't lose the catridge, that was a fun racing game)
10. Sinistar (Who wouldn't want it back)
Ah, fun times.
You know what's fun about chaos? I do, but I won't tell.
Sometimes, not always, expansions can ruin a game.
Ultima Online as released.
Dark Age of Camelot as released with the housing expansion.
Would love to see a remake of the original summoner. Was probably one of my favorite rpg's of all time. Came out on ps2, pc, and mac. On ps2 it had horrible load time's, but still alot of fun imho.
Ultima Online
SWG pre NGE
DAoC
Vanguard
FFXI (proper remake or sequel not... FFXIV)
Shadowbane
Tabula Rasa
Lineage (Hopefully Lineage Eternal is the proper Lineage successor)
Asherons Call
"In the immediate future, we have this one, and then weve got another one that is actually going to be so were going to have, what we want to do, is in January, what were targeting to do, this may or may not happen, so you cant hold me to it. But what were targeting to do, is have a fun anniversary to the Ilum shenanigans that happened. An alien race might invade, and they might crash into Ilum and there might be some new activities that happen on the planet." ~Gabe Amatangelo
Quake
Unreal Tournament - I really miss old school FPS, rather than CS, CoD affairs.
Blood 3 - yet another FPS series, first one used Build engine (same as Duke3D), 2nd I think same as Shogo.
Duke 3D - a proper sequel, or a reboot if you'd like. Tried Forever, but as soon I found out in demo that you can only run around with 2 weapons I gave up.
Baldur's Gate series - some of the best RPG fun I had, and it wasn't 3D.
Anarchy Online 2 - Maybe the graphics update and rebalance be enough?
Ultima 6 - I didn't really like how the series went after 6. The plot in 7 was great but didn't really like the combat system, preffered the turn based they had in 6.
Wizardry 9 - loved the combat system and the mix of magic and technology, and it was great fun.
10. Jedi Knight Series
9. Star Trek: Armada
(I'd add Birth of the Federation to this line as well, either would be great)
8. Sim City
(preferably not under EA's control this time)
7. Star Wars: Rebellion
(Empire at War, was way more RTS than strategy, and not nearly in-depth enough)
6. Resident Evil
(the original game was scary as hell, and super challenging)
5. Uncharted Waters
(Single-player, not the F2P P2W MMO)
4. Age of Empires
(.... the new one... really?)
3. Star Wars: MMO
(Set in the time period after the movies, New Republic, Yuuzhan Vong, etc...)
2. Civ City
(Pick a few new Era's and a few different Empires to "build")
1. Carmageddon
(electro-bastard ray anyone?)
Looking at my list, it's mostly strategy/simulation. Apparently I should branch out into something else.... nah
just one...
WARHAMMER ONLINE!
geez, I still get pissed on how bad Mythic missed the mark on this one.
They just just make DAoC2 in the Warhammer universe...nuff said.
Final Fantasy 7.

I remember people raving how great Half-Life single player was, but personally I think Unreal single player was better. Not to mention very few games made me go "woah" with their graphics since then (like when you saw Doom or Quake for very first time). Multiplayer was actually quite good, but it wasn't playable over internet for a while after release (most people had dial-up back then).
Gah, mentioning Unreal made me wanna reinstall it and play it again.
Asherons Call 1
dont care about remakeing any other game, AC1 was the best i ever played.

As for a remake:
http://www.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/725346/final-fantasy-7-remake-shelved-until-original-ff7-has-been-topped/
A real remake......there was already a final fantasy 7 for pc years, and years ago.
Ideally, i would be content with graphics in the realm of advent children.

DDO
It is very nearly the most perfect mmo ever it just needs landscape exploration quests that do NOT involve mob killing; in a nut shell, more world to explore. And a game card that permits subscriptions and not this buying one dungeon at a time c.r.a.p.
Unreal was my beginning to PC gaming. I still have fond memories of it, like the first time I fought a Titan (and with it the first time I got one shotted).
The variety of weapons was just awesome and wacky. Go razorjack and GES Rifle! But now with modern FPSs it's remodeled weapons we've seen in war movies, oh look a shotgun and an assault rifle.
And yes, multiplayer was awesome. Watching body parts fly in every direction and the chaos. . . damn it now I want to reinstall it! Shame older games aren't playable on newer PCs.
You know what's fun about chaos? I do, but I won't tell.
gta-san andreas
http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/unreal_gold
Its says its updated to work with Windows 7 and DX9. And it includes the expansion pack which I've never played, so I think I'll get that.
Nailed 4 of my top-5. Add Half-Life and that's my list.
Oh damn it! I can't belive I forgot about this:
Chaos Overlords! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chaos_Overlords )
Actually, I'd be just happy if I could get the original working properly on current PCs. And another I just remembered (come on it was long time ago):
Little Big Adventure (aka Twinsen's Adventure).
