I'm at level 8 and still no group quests. All single player. Any group quests in this game?

Started playing couple of days ago. So far been given all solo quests.

At what level do group quests appear?

You need to get level 10 and then go to fleet. then you get your first one.

    Ok thank you.

Hope there are plenty of them after that.

  • One thing I loved about this game was the million group quests every where. I'd already done group quests by the time I was 8. Did they make all the low-level group quests solable?

This is what I feared!!! They pulled a dumb move like Lord of the Rings did and removed half the group quests in game.

I for one dont like solo play. Lord of the rings was great with all the felowsihp quests starting at level 4 or 5.

    Now I'm scared.

All the quests that needed to be done for gear or exp were soloable. The ONLY group quests I found were Flashpoints and PvP, none of which needed to be done.

Sure, all quests 'could' be grouped, but almost none benefitted from it.  All of your storyline quests could be grouped, but only the phasing player would get the credit, so have 2 Jedi in your group? Do the quest instances twice, heaven forbid you have 3 or 4 of the same class...

There are loads of group quests on every world after the "tutorial" world both +2 and +4 quests

(that is 2+ persons and 4+ persons recommended for completion)

On top of that u have all the flashpoints and with the lfg tool introduced in 1.3 its not hard to find suitable groups to do them with, but with all holy trinity based mmo's comes the "not enough tanks or healers" so if you are dps ur gonna be queing for a while ;D

Another thing that would be nice if they adopted is the way other LFG tools out there work, that is when u complete a dungeon(flashpoint) u get returned to the place u where questing, this is not the case atm and its abit of a turn down.

Say you are far in an hideout somewhere way out in a world doing a classquest or whatever you may feel reluctant to actually accept the que accept for the flashpoint but tweaks are bound to be implemented and hopefully this will get fixed,  isnt really gamebraking I guess im just lazy ;D

On every planet you have heroic quests (2+ players or 4 players). Even on the starting planets (below level 10) you have 2-3 group quests. Depending on your class choice, your game skill/understanding and on when you get your companion, you may be able to do them alone (or with a companion).

After level 10 things will look different. Depending on your build (class specialisation and talent selection) and the available companions (tank / healer / damage dealer) you might be able to do heroic quests alone (at least 2+ player quests).

When you leave the starting planet you'll be greeted by the first flash points. It's best to go it slow the first few times. It would be a waste to rush through with a zerg party / social point farmers.

He was pulling your leg, the game has all the group quests designed for it since the beginning, which isn't very many.

SWTOR has grouping in the form of flashpoints and what not, but it really is designed for you to follow the single player story line to the end.

So while you can group, you don't need to group, therefore only a few diehards really bother to.

In my day MMORPG's were so hard we fought our way through dungeons in the snow, uphill both ways.

Thats for sure, the group quests arent required and I tend to outlevel worlds even without levling gear since I do pvp daily and flashpoints since I find it fun thus im almost allways a few lvls above the recommended lvl for worlds when I do the classquests ;D

Swtor is more of a single player RPG. Have fun.

There will be some grouping further on but unfortunately citalkay is right... it's more of a single player RPG!

You should have at least 1 group quest (a Heroic 2+) on your origin world.

It is possible to solo this once you've gotten your first companion however.

At level 10 you can do the first flashpoint (dungeon), it starts from the fleet.

TOR still has plenty of group quests, they didn't remove any. It is true however, that many people ignore them or outlevel them by the time they get there.

Feel free to use my referral link for SW:TOR if you want to test out the game. You'll get some special unlocks!

With your companion you can solo all of the starter worlds 2 man heroic quests.

OP, there are plenty of group quests on each planet. The challenge is actually getting groups for those quests though.

I can't think of one MMO that I could not play solo. SWTOR is no different. You group if you WANT to group and you solo if you WANT to solo. You are not forced into grouping or playing solo. Whether or not the OP was in "jest" or not, it is the wrong message. You make any MMO what you want to make of it when it comes to grouping or not.

The group quests pre level 10 were always "soloable, as long as you out leveled it.  But thats the same of all MMO's. If you don;t want to do that group level 6 quest, just wait till you are level 10.

What games makes you group at level 8? Usually it's all tutorial up until around level 10+, and that's no bad thing. People should be taught how to play the game first before being taught how to play the game in groups.

OP, all the starter worlds, up level 10, have Heroic (group) quests for 2+ or 4 players. There is at least one 2+ and one 4 player Heroic on every starter world. It's not true that you only pick up group quests at lvl 10 when you get to Fleet. The group quests do vary in difficulty though. I found the two 2+ Heroics on Ord Mantell easy to do with an 8th level character (even before picking up my first companion) whereas on Korroban the Heroics are pretty hard and need a group.

Personally I think grouping at early levels is a good thing because you can learn the role of your class in group play ready for later. On the other hand this is a game where it isn't necessary to group at all (ever) if you don't want to.

There is no point going back and doing Heroic when you are a higher level though, since they all give commendations as rewards and the gear you can buy with those commendations is useless at higher levels.

Unless they changed it, which they may have since I played, this isn't true. Group quests started out around level 8 or 9, and every single zone had a handful of them from then on.  Unless things changed, this game actually did have quite a good amount of group quests which gave very good gear rewards.

That's about right.  Group quests will either be leveled +2 or +4 as in difficulty.  You can solo some +2s  and others should be performed with at least 3 players.  In the earlier areas, its easier to find help.  Later planets have level 50+ players running them for credits but its harder to find groups.

The big change I like is the group finder.  There is no more yelling for groups at fleet.  You just enter group finder for a flashpoint and wait until the queue pops and go.

Lord of the Rings has more open space than Swtor but, without a group finder, it was nearly impossible to find help.

Each starter world has 3 group quests.  After you get off that rock, you can group up more frequently or less so, as you desire.
