~and here I've just been buying games at release, and usually after weeding through some reviews and whatnot.
What a fool I've been.
I've played in the beta of guild wars, along with watching hours and hours or gameplay footage and reading blogs/info/etc. on all 3 games. That and i'm just too much of an old Battletech fan not to be a founder for that game.
Reviews are far too biased to be trusted, especially nowadays.
I'm throwning money at my screen, but nobody will let me play
have you played Mechwarrior already is it good? I have gw2 and i'm thinking on buy the founder program of Mechwarrior but i would like to see it for myself if possible

No, sadly. Despite registering and doing 100% beta registration completion very early in, and buying the legendary founder pack, I still am not in the beta. Unlucky I guess.
From all the media and information i've absorbed, it seems to play much like Mechwarrior 4 used to. Seperate leg and torso movement, acceleration and deceleration, heat management. Its going to operate on a cash shop very similar to League of Legends.
Also, it's going to be free to play, so dont feel like you have to opt in to the founders packs. I just wanted to because i'm a big nerdy fan of the books, tabletop game and previous computer/xbox games.
I can definitely see your point in not even bothering with reviews. Still though, if you don't have money to spend obviously it's a safer bet to wait for the more thoughtful reviews which actually take more than 20 minutes to write to come out.
Metacritic, amazon, avoid completely if it's a game...

If you know that much, then it's easy enough to read between the lines.
Simply put, ignore anything that sounds too passionate. Good or bad.

Sad to say, but shitty producers and developers thrive on people like you
True. I still try to shy away from the negative reviews though. Sometimes ignorance is bliss.
And so do excellent ones. And thats fine by me.

Ouch. I feel your pain.
