According to a brand new YouTube video from Guild Wars 2 / Arena.Net, the official release date is now set: August 28, 2012!

The head start will begin 8-25 for people who have pre-purchased the game and the head start will begin 8-27 for people who have pre-ordered.

I thought SWTOR had hype... now that is hype.
The video is getting like one comment per second.
But.. because the shirts came true... does that mean we were lied to by Arenanet? I mean, if they knew exactly when they would announce the release date, but instead said they would announce it when they felt the game was at a stage where it was ready...
Is it actually the 25th though for those who preordered direct from Arena Net we should get in 3 days early..?
Now we all have to take that day off to get our names lol.

Hopfuly they so some sort of open beta before release or trial after. Could not bring myself to buy it ...wasn't a GW fan.

I knew those jerseys meant something 28/6/12..the release date announcement.
But you bet your ass there will be an MMORPG guild in there on day 1! Which is likely 8/25 for pre-order folks!

That's what I was thinking about. With an August 28th release date, that puts pre-paid 3 day head starters at August 25th on a Saturday.
