Requiem: Bloodymare: Four Years & Counting

SBFordSBFord Former Associate EditorMember LegendaryPosts: 33,129

The Requiem Online team is pulling out all the stops in celebration of the game's four years on the MMO scene. According to the team, monsters will begin dropping event-specific items as well as 'Flags' which can be turned in for a chance at a special coin. In addition, players turning in 200+ Flags will be gifted a never-before-seen mount for 7-days.

With the Anniversary Event, comes a lengthy list of updates to skills for each job class.  Players are invited to check out the changes and join in the discussion.  To help players adjust to the latest changes, there will be NPC Job Change Specialists available in each town selling Job Change Certificates for 4,500 Lant during the entire Anniversary Event!

Find out more on the Requiem site.

    Hey I played this game.

its was like a more dark and bloody version of Lineage 2.

it wasn't bad think I messed with it for a month.

They have a shaman class that I liked.

    Decent F2p.

    Playing: Nothing

    Looking forward to: Nothing

I agree, I also played it for awhile.  It definitely wasn't bad.  The graphics were good and gameplay was fine.  I wish I had more time, I'd still play it.

Yea as the other posters say, solid game. It's one of the few MMOs I played before everything started going F2P.  Only big problem is that once you hit like level 55, it gets harder to level.

This game has a web version too if anyone is interested.

i played this game since beta. I can tell ya patchs are slow, they each each badly nerf classes making certain others more op. i can go on with a pretty epic list of failures this games had. few years ago its first major patch literally killed off 5000 players with in 3 months and now the game is barely riding 300 players. its been runing on fuems for the past 2 years. devs for this game are very slow.   as for being a decent f2p, well let me tell ya your spending atleast 50 bucks a month to get far in this game as a free player to reach cap, will take you a few years, to get high end gears youll spend thousands of USD to reinforce them to +30 and add all the spiffies. Dont beleave me go try it on 75+ armors and weapons.  However if ya dont take the word from some1 whos played req for 5 years, yes its been 5 as i was in the beta, then welp ask around and youll see.

It was a cool game when it came out. I was very excited to have a more adult-themed MMO that isn't all flowers and ponies flying around.

Unfortunately for me the game was far too grindy for my taste, animations felt pretty stiff and awkward sometimes as well. The combat was quite fun though (it felt satisfying seeing the top half of a humanoid monster go flying off) and it has some redeeming and unique features.

Maybe I'll try it out again just for fun but I can't see myself playing it much if the grind is still as bad as it was upon release.

The grind is pretty harsh with it, and it starts pretty fast.

But it was still fun, and nice to see some blood even though the same 1-3 death animations and body parts got gimmicky fast once you moved onto a new mob to grind.

Think I quit it more because I just couldn't commit to it enough to make any kind of progress eventually, heh.

Too grindy and too expensive. I tried it, but quit after 2 days.

I loved this game when I played too. And as the other posters, I do agree that it did get a lot harder to level later on in the game.

Yeah, I got an Assassin to about level 58-60, but quit because leveling was getting a bit tedious.  Leveling isn't so bad if you get the premium + exp boosters as they affect quest exp.  The secret was to do all the available quests for the level, pop a short term high exp booster, and quickly go turn in all your quests.  Would usually get your level or very close to it.  Leveling is pretty easy up to 45 or so without any cash shop exp boosts, and you can get pretty good gear and exp by doing instances like the Secret Lab.

Solid f2p game, was a good choice for those looking for f2p years ago.... but now I would just point people in the direction of League of Legends, Aion, or Lineage 2 for some cheap entertainment.

Have they added pvp yet? Have they fixed the fps 'stuttering' issues? Have they fixed any dungeons? Last time I played this game it was broken in so many ways, and lacked so many features that it was pretty unbelievable. I can't imagine that more than a couple houndred people having been playing it all these years.

Well I did not like it.  Found it was very grindy and very laggy at times.  Actually I am surprised people still play it.
