RaiderZ: Our E3 2012 Preview

SBFordSBFord Former Associate EditorMember LegendaryPosts: 33,129

During E3 last week, we managed to score some quality time with RaiderZ, one of a handful of games that truly stood out among all that were represented during the convention. See what we discovered about RaiderZ then leave us your thoughts in the comments.

This year at E3 we saw a lot of games. RaiderZ was one that stood out from the crowd for giving MMO players some unique systems and overall monster hunting fun. The game prides itself on characters hunting for big monsters and working in groups to bring down foes. With great graphics and classes the title has some really fun elements. RaiderZ definitely will pull in the big monster crowd, it also offers a lot to MMO players in terms of combat, customization, and style.

    Entirelly different focus.

For one Raiderz has better implemented targeting system and more fluent combat.

For second, the focus on Tera is still traditional mmorpg grind and etc, while Raiderz focus is crafting(monsters do not drop "equipment, for example and the game runs on player based economy) and guild conflicts and politics.

    # A GRIM, ODD, ARCANE SKY
    # ANY GOD, I MARK SACRED
    # A MASKED CRY ADORING
    # A DREAMY, SICK DRAGON

    Hmm. Worth looking into then.

RaiderZ is a bit more like Monster Hunter.

Still the Action Combat like TERA, but like Yuui said, it has more fluid combat. Everyone can dodge and block if I remember right.

The gear system is similar to Monster Hunter as well. Get  5 of this, 1 of this, and you have a piece of gear. Take that gear and 1 of this, and now its upgraded to a blue.

When I last played, some of the higher level spots were overpopulated and there were a couple of gamebreaking glitches. But that was when the alpha first started.

As long as they've fixed the armor gem stacking glitch, it's absolutely worth a try.

    I notice the effort....

But stalking a mob and then calling for back up is not exactly what is commonly understood as solo play.

A game does not have to be solo-friendly, and it's okay to say it.

i am wondering if the mob drops are going to be evenly dispersed, class drops or for anyones taking?  Are they going to drop regularly or is it going to be a 1 in 100 chance they drop?  And are the drops going to be for the level of what level you are?

Like in FW, you cross your fingers and hope the boss drops something good and you hope you are one that gets it and that you actually will be able to use it.  My main is lvl 80 on FW, which means no lvl 80 weps/gears etc., so I have alot of alts to try to get the good drops but very rarely do.  I see in WC that ppl get class drops they're not suppose to get and wont give to person of that class in group, instead they sell item.

Hero's of Three Kingdoms was the best game PWE had out there for play, weps, gears, mobs.  The making of weps and armor was the best, you didn't have to "fight" ppl to try to get drops to make what you needed for your lvl.  But PWE shut it down, very sad day when that happened.

Hard to get excited about any PW product, they always make you waste cash on chance items.  I can go to a casino if I want to gamble.
